Alright so my area is rather dusty so eventually these evil specks managed to wiggle into my top screen. (Probably through the speaker.) I'm guessing it was my pockets that did it. The dust specks are only on the lower left side of the screen..It's not noticeable indoors but during the day outside or near windows like in a car it's VERY annoying since there is just a bunch in that corner. I'm still under Nintendo's warranty, and I'm not sure if I can still use the store's warranty. Anyway, so if I did send it in to Nintendo, would it come back in good condition? Since other than the dust it's in fine condition, and I don't want to end up waiting for it to come back to me only for it to be in worse condition but dustless.

Why would it not be in good condition?

I'm wondering if something is wrong with my 3DS's 3D. Whenever I play in sunlight instead of doing 3D it splits the image worse than if I'm not in the sweetspot, but inside (Not in sunlight, it still does it if I'm sitting in a window) it works fine. Is this normal or am I the only one experiencing this?
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
No, your not. I have the exact same problem... seems sunlight is the 3DS' kryptonite. I can't play it in any direct sunlight because it becomes really shiny and distorts the parallax barrier terribly, in fact it doesn't even show a 3D screen it just shows multiple colours and a split image if the 3D is on, even by a little bit. So much so, I have to have it off when playing outside, which I don't often do because of the horrible glare and you can see dust even easier.
It's a good console for playing indoors, but playing outside... it's awful!
Don't send it to NIntendo. My 3DS screen got broken (had no dust inside), when I got it back, there was so much dust inside the screen, do not send it to them, instead wait for the 3DS XL,, which i am doing.
The screen was not made to play outside... a real shame. Any little blemish on the screen shows up in the light, and the colors get distorted (especially with 3D). It's not a huge problem, though.
i think i may have this too. i while ago i noticed a single dead pixel, but i could swear it's moved since i first saw it. it went from the left half of the screen to near the center... i originally remember it being near the black borders when playing DS games, now it's nowhere near them. either it's a speck of dust caught under the screen or i'm crazy.
Have you tried cleaning it with water? I had dust that didn't come off with the cloth until I used water.
in my case it's clear that the dead pixel/dust speck is beneath the outer layer of the screen. it doesn't seem like just one pixel, it's sort of a diagonal blotch that is near 4x4 pixels in size. i'd like to believe it's dust, since a dead pixel can't be fixed, but even then... how the hell do you get it out?
