Which DS games do you find are easier (or harder) to play when using the Circle Pad?
For starters, I've found Kirby Super Star Ultra to be hindered by it, it's much easier to dash with a double button press than sliding the circle pad twice. 2D Platformers in general seem to be harmed by the circle pad controls. However, I've found top-down games (like M&L) benefit well. Also, SM64DS works much better with it, too.
Not alot IMO, most 3D games either use the stylus for control (LoZ: PH, Okamiden, Animal Crossing) or only have 8 Directions (Pop Island, Animal Crossing) Which is understandable, because back then, there was no CP.
Heh, I remember making this exact topic back around the launch of the 3DS.
Definitely Super Mario 64 DS. I was just playing that today, actually! And no games are hindered by the circle pad, because you can just use the D-pad for games like sidescrollers.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I find that with all the 3DS VC games especially games that I played on older systems like Super Mario Land and Metroid II I cant stand using the circle pad but that just might be what I am use to. With Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 its the circle pad all the way.

I couldn't help but notice that you did not mention a single DS game, considering the topic.

With the sole exception of SM64DS, I found myself falling back onto the D-Pad - even with games like Dragon Quest IX. Mario Kart DS needs a lot of precision if you're going to race well, so I use the D-Pad for that, and apparently the same goes with nearly everyone else here.
I felt playing Mario Kart DS with the circle pad made it easier to snake. I really got used to snaking with the d-pad but just after a few races I got used to the circle pad and got much better times.
I haven't really experimented with the circle pad and my DS games yet, but I imagine that anything that requires you to move around in a 3D space (Super Mario 64 DS, Solatorobo) would become easier, if only a little, on your left thumb, while anything that's controlled on a 2D plane would be hindered by it.
Tetris is definitely hindered. It just isn't comfortable, or fun, sliding blocks around like that.
I never even thought of using the Circle Pad w/ that, so I didn't. How could you even think of controlling it w/ the Circle Pad? It all makes sense to me now why I didn't. Because it's a bad idea. I think we've found our winner for what DS game is hindered most by the Circle Pad, even though this isn't a competition.
