I loved Donkey Kong Country Returns and I'll be there on day one if there's ever a sequel, but I'm not going to pay $30-40 for an enhanced port of a game that I bought just a little over 2 years ago. It's cool for the people that didn't buy DKCR the first time for some reason, but there are too many other upcoming 3DS games I'd rather spend that money on.

I don't see myself picking this up unless it's sold at a discount price, which I doubt will be the case. I am curious, though, to see how they'll be replacing the totally unnecessary motion controls.

Most likely with buttons. The ending of the eShop trailer shows Donkey Kong beating a Tiki with an 'X' button prompt instead of the shake Wii remote instruction. The fact that the game can be played "SNES" style (aka no motion controls) is one of DKCR 3D's main selling points.

That alone might have me pick up the game at some point, since the motion controlling aspect was so annoying. :P

i wouldn't get to hyper because all this is a port and they could do DLC but that is less likely to happen plus they have been announcing remakes like rabbits

they've only had maybe 15 remakes/ports compared to 145 other games for the 3DS that are out now, not including the ones announced for this summer....that's not anything like rabbits. it just seems like a lot but it's not really.

looking forward to Yoshi's Woolly World, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Fossil Fighters Frontier, Story of Seasons and Kirby & the Rainbow Curse.

One of my favorite Wii games, I hope they can release it before I go on summer vacation, because that would make the car trip to wherever I go so much better (And I have a car charger for the 3DS, so the battery problem won't be a problem at all)

Unless there is extra content, then there is really no point in buying this if you already own the Wii version.

No motion controls makes Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D the superior version of the two in my opinion, and that's why I'm really interested in picking up this release. The motion controls separate DKCR from being a good game and being in the argument for best platformer of all time.

Still haven't played my Copy of DKCR on the Wii yet. The motion tilt controls were revolutionary to the sidescroller genre in wario land shake it imo and boosted the fun factor and uniqueness by a mile. While Kirby's Epic yarn did some really cool stuff, like with the fire truck and tank for ex. but I've been hearing that what's present in DKCR is a bit of a mess. :p

It seems Nintendo are edging ever slightly closer to the practice of releasing games on all their consoles, a la Sega. I don't see it as a bad thing, if it's presented as a choice rather than trying to sell you the same game twice.

A remake eh? I have not yet tried the Wii version, but I hear it is good. A 3DS version sounds even better.

I'll be passing this one. Played it on the Wii and enjoyed it. It is a kind of "been there done that" type of deal minus the 3d and motion controls. There's no reason for me to pick this up.
Personally I don't mind the remakes, as long as they don't hinder the flow of new original 1st party games.

I played the original, and I think the textures and colors on the 3DS version are way of. The Wii version literally popped of the screen, while this one is really pale.
This is based on the video from the eShop.

The video is low quality and will not represent what the final product will look like. The 3ds can do wii games fairly well so we will see how well it looks once its release.

This game is a filthy little cash grab, they should've made a sequel on 3DS,not a 3D port of the Wii game.

I hate when people complain about re-releases on other platforms. Look, if you've already played the game, then great! Don't buy it. For thus of us who have never played it before, though, it's a valuable opportunity to try a game we've always been interested in. I also bet a fair amount of people will want to replay it in very deep stereoscopic 3D.

I would play this game again in 3D, and that would be awesome to play while in a long car trip, or if I just want to play the game while i'm out somewhere, but if you haven't played it yet, then I highly recommend you get this version.

I have the game, but I'm very interested to see how it will look in 3D and having it portable is a big plus for me. Sometimes I like to just pop in and play DKCR to play some levels, so that pick-up-and-play mechanic would be perfect on a handheld.

I haven't seen the eshop trailer just yet, but it won't be like the final product. As is the case with every game, the final product is always better-looking than the trailer. The trailer just gives you a sense of what it might be like.

I plan to. I've always meant to play the Wii version, but my access to a Wii is limited at best. The game looks like it is going to be gorgeous on 3DS (judging from the video available on the e-shop).
