So my 3DS broke last week and it seems to be stuck on Sleep Mode, I was going to just leave it broken and grab the new 3DS next year but I remembered that the only way to transfer is from 3DS to 3DS and i'm all digital. So now I have to get my old unit fixed uf I want to get my games on a newer system.

Now I have to ask why is this even a thing and why doesn't Nintendo doesn't understand the internet. I recently bought a second phone to be a cheap workout device and once I went to set it up all i did was put in my Google account and it came down and downloaded every thing from my main phone.

WAT!

Nintendo can probably transfer your files from the broken system to a new console. Doesn't hurt to contact them and ask if they can help.

I don't find the Nintendo Network accounts terrible at all.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Call, Nintendo. They will do the transfer for you.

I have had no trouble yet but there again I don't do anything with even the slightest chance of messing anything up. (Like renaming or changing a Mii even).

If I somehow lose all my content I wouldn't be best pleased. (I still think the user should be able to deactivate a device that isn't working. Everybody else allows it).

Not yet I plan to just send it in, since the new 3DS won't be out till next year, but I just find it a bit obtuse that I even have to call Nintendo for this.

By principle it is bad, but it only adds a couple of steps to the process.

Yes the system adds more steps then is really needed, hopefully next gen Nintendo can finally just get it right.
