Pictures will only look good- even great in natural lighting. I've taken a few pictures of my dog outside when I first got my DSi and the pictures were pretty good. Just when I use an artificial light source, it's terrible.

actually the earlier iphones were 2 mega pixels and then 3.2 megapixels. The iphone 4 is only 5 megapixels.
Both the IPAD 2 (the first didn't have any cameras) and the ipod touch 4 have crappy 0.7 megapixels cameras. Granted, this is still better than 0.3 so it's a shame Nintendo didn't up that one - having said that, the 3DS is the only device here that actually features 3 cameras, and is capable of taking both 3D photos and 3D videos (after updates) - so that's good...

Digital Zoom is not the same like photoshop zoom. The digital zoom does its processing before the compression hits the file, so it is a much better solution. Still no where near optical zoom but you don't have that in any device that's not a dedicated camera. I guess as long as the cameras work for its intended purposes, especially the AR games, and deliver that way, it will be fine..

This. I have a ton of awesome pictures of my dogs outside. The moment I try to take an indoor picture, though, it's awful.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
