Any DSi XL case, fill fit the 3DS XL it,as they're both the same size.

Yes the two are slightly different in size. However I keep hearing the DSI XL cases fit the 3DS XL fine.

i have a friend that tought that his dsl was perfectly safe in his case/bag. And one day the R button broke, turn out that the case was to tight and it squeezed the R and L on his dsl. So it turn out that the ting he tougt protected his dsl slowly destroyed it

Ok here's the thing. I think that for those that already have a desi xl case, it's close enough! It will suffice as a home for your new 3DS XL. I wouldn't sink more money into a case, if I already had a DSI XL case. I think it's close enough, and highly doubt it will damage your console. Of course...you should pay attention to the fit and if the case is squeezing any buttons etc. or if the console is shifting around inside the case while traveling. If you're like me... and don't have a case, then wait it out, and buy one specifically for 3DS XL. For the record....the cases and accessories should be plentiful by now, although obviously they are not! I'd expect better from Nintendo, seeing as though the console is released in Europe and Japan already. Nintendo could at lease have one official 3DS carrying case available at this point. How do you release a console with no official case, screen protector, or accessories?

my original plan whas to buy that and if it work use it until i can get my hands on a case made for 3ds xl. But now when i have it in my hands i think this this case will stay. And the color in the pics are wrong it more of a dark copper-brown

Yes. I've got a DSi XL bag from the Big Ben "Essential XL" accessory pack and it fits the 3DS XL as well, with room to spare

That is 100% true,as I have my 3DS XL in a DSi Xl case.

Lol. maybe thats why the system is released in a couple weeks and I've seen only seen one 3DS XL case!? Nintendo must not be pressed in making 3DS XL cases... since it is so close in size to the DSI XL. I just got tired of looking for 3DS XL cases that aren't out there, and bought a nice DSI XL case (fingers crossed it fits). I also imagine a specific 3DS XL case is going to cost a premium.

I have a spare DSiXL case which I'm using temporarily for my 3DSXL. It's one of the Big Ben ones with clips to hold the console in place, and fits fine with no squeezing. However, due to the difference in in sizes, the 3DSXL is a little loose in the clips, and it pops out of place unless I'm very careful. So just be careful you don't get a crashing-on-the-floor disaster folks.
