Nintendo really should just start off with GBA games. I want mah Metroids! and mah mario and luigi superstar saga...

Metroid 2 is more than Worth your While, and Superstar Saga hasn't aged well, IMO.

I'm quite surprised that they won't have the GBA games ready at launch, but it's not a huge issue. I do want more GBA games than GB ones though...

Well, GBA games are more plentiful in stores than GBA games, and you can play GBA games on your DS. It just makes sense to focus more on things that fewer people would still have access to, you know?

Yeah, fair enough. idk why I want GBA games on my 3DS when I have a GBA and DS Lite. I guess it's because of the convenience

Plus, Game Freak makes too much money on remakes of these games for it to make sense to offer the originals for bargain basement prices.

Given how far Pokemon has come since the originals, thats like saying they won't be given us Link's Awakening because Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword would make more money.

The old games are incredibly basic. You can't compare Fire Red and Leaf Green to the original Blue and Red and say that the originals would somehow be stealing sales away the remakes which have long since been sold out as new product. Even if someone were to download Red/Blue as their first Pokemon game, it wouldn't be long until they would want to upgrade to a later version.

I think it will be worth while. These are real games, so unlike most DSiWare games they will take time to beat.

Apparently handhelds aren't real consoles since they don't have cords and you can actually lie comfortably while playing them.

I hope I didn't buy Golden Sun 1+2 just for them to be released on the 3DS's virtual console (I haven't played them yet and won't for a while)

You guys are forgetting Donkey Kong Countries all got a GB seperate port, as well as Rayman, Shantae and so many great GB games.... Kid Dracula anyone?

I don't think so, though I'm sure it's just a matter of time (if they're not lumped in with GB games).

That brings the question of remakes. Will both Links Awakening and Links Awakening DX be on there? I'd prefer the DX version for the little bit of extra content (especially seeing as the game fundamentally remained the same). However, based on the Wii VC, they seem to be very big on putting up only the unadulterated originals. I know there will probably never be an answer to this question until either they both come out, or it's been years and we've only seen one. It would be nice to know though. Wouldn't want to drop money on LA only to have LADX show up a couple years later. There are a LOT more remakes in the portable realm than in the home console realm.

Yes, it was Gameboy & Gameboy Color that got announced. No Gameboy Advance games (yet. but sooner or later, I think they have gameboy advance).

Oh and it was Links Awakening DX that they showed on the Nintendo Japan site, not the orignal B&W verison. I never played the DX verison. I only ever played the B&W one. Can't wait to play it though. I liked Links Awakening a lot.

They also showed Super Mario Land for the orignal Gameboy. That was a fun game.

Your can't have the Game Boy Adavance because it's the last generation like GameCube being too new. Unless they count the 3DS as the nest generation handheld.

I'm pretty sure the 3DS is next gen since it's using all new hardware.
