Ever since I've bought this game, I've had issues here and there with the game saying 'Game Card has been removed. Press Home to go back to Home screen."
Well, it happened again today. Right when I was saving. When I powered off my system (it froze) and reinserted the game card, I get a save file reading "Data Corrupted". Nineteen hours of gameplay GONE. I have a save file that's about three hours in, but oh my God, I feel sick that I lost all that game. Anyone else have this issue?
Note: This is the only game this has happened with.
Sorry to hear you have lost so much data. Something similar has happened to me with Animal Crossing Wild World. The cartridge would flick constantly between detected and undetected. It turns out it's because of my worn connectors. How are the connectors looking on your cart? Are they worn? If so it might be an idea to buy a second hand copy of the game.
There would be lighter coloured lines in the middle of each connector (at the back of the cartridge) with black lines around the lighter lines. I'll upload a picture of my Animal Crossing: Wild World cartridge now. EDIT: Here it is. It's easier to see with your actual eyes but it does the job.
Hm... Mine looks pretty good compared to that, actually. I noticed a lot of the freezing happened when I set the 3DS down, either in sleep mode or open. Again, none of my other carts have done this, at least not with this frequency.

Sounds to me like you just got a bad copy. I am not sure where or when you bought it but have you tried returning it to the store you bought and exchange it for another copy. Sorry to hear about your saved game but unfortunately you will have to start over there.
