Hey guys. New dude here.

Anyways, I've had my 3DS for just a little over 2 weeks now and I've gotta say...I've hardly been using the actual 3D feature. Granted, that's not what got me interested into the 3DS. I got the system because of the games: 3D Land, Starfox 3D, NSMB2, MK7, Street Fighter, etc. It's not that I don't have any games with good 3D effect. I've been playing 3D Land a lot and TBH I just don't use the 3D.

How often do you guys use it?

I'd use it more often if there was more of it/it worked better (as in, not causing lag) in Pokémon Y!!! D:<
Otherwise, I always play in 3D! I love the 3D effect so much! Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, my newest game, uses it exceptionally well, for instance. A lot is lost without it turned on! Most games I own benefit greatly from 3D.

...that being said, I am getting a 2DS as my second system... but I'll still play my 3DS for the 3D quite often.

4.5/5 stars of often...unless my battery runs low.

Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

Not much anymore...I think the 3D gets boring eventually...so, yeah. Hopefully A Link between Worlds will be like 3D Land where I feel it's "impossible" to play the game with it off. xD

I think mainly my 2DS will be for playing in the car; my 3DS suffers greatly from glare and I can't really see the 3D in that condition... but the 2DS is non-glare. But yeah, the 3D is my favorite part of the 3DS.

I don't really use it for normal play. I'll switch it on when I want to see what it looks like but I don't leave it on for long periods of time.

I guess a big part of why I hardly use it is because if I move the screen ever so slightly things look fuzzy and I tend to move the handheld a bit while holding it.

Yup, all of the time, except in Pokémon Y, cause the graphics gets a bit bad when the 3D is on in a battle.

If I'm out, I usually try to refrain from 3D so I can keep as much charge as possible for StreetPass or the occasional local multiplayer with someone. When I'm at home, or in my dorm, and I can plug it in, that 3D is on at least 75% (when I'm wide awake) to 30% (if I'm dog-tired). I love the 3D. I like how the 3D effect looks in every 3DS game I own. Ocarina of Time's depth and 3D Land's puzzle assistance are my favorites.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

Depends on the game, some seem to compliment it while others it feels a bit much. I thought OoT it was nice initially but when you had to start using shoulder buttons and you could aim quickly by moving the 3DS i turned it off because my eyes would have to readjust. Then some games use the 3D is a much milder sense like 3D land and ALBW where i like to keep it on all the time as it adds to it.

I use it almost 100% of the time. I love the 3D - it adds a lot to many games. I guess some people get headaches from it, I can play in 3D all day and not have any issues. It did take a couple of days of adjustment when I first got it, especially with games like Mario Kart I tend to move the system and never realized I did it until I got the 3DS. But once I learned to hold it still I've never looked back.

All the time, except when I need to conserve battery power. I love the 3D effect, especially when it is well-implemented.

I use the 3D so much I subconsciously slide the slider back up whenever I turn it off! Most games make great use of the 3D, but some don't do it too well, tbh. I don't really like the 3D in Zen Pinball, and the little bit of Mario Tennis that I played was flat, there was no depth to it for some reason, even with the slider all the way up.

I like makin' games!
Future Pinball games!
Petit Computer games!!
and SmileBASIC games!
Waiting for Kirby Air Ride 2. One day, it will come. One day...

No, never. Wish I had waited for the 2DS.

The 3DS is unquestionably the gaming system to get right now for its software and will almost certainly destroy the sales of the big 3 home consoles, probably well deserved.

The 3D has NOOOOOTHING to do with that, barring maybe getting some people interested because 3D is (was?) cool. The single problem of the system is after adoring and appreciating the genuine gameplay innovation of DS and Wii that sent gaming sales into the stratosphere, the 3D has been used so rarely to add to gameplay or anything to graphics beyond being moderately cool but annoying to look at for any real amount of time. And of the 3 games that I own where it mattered to the gameplay, 3D Land is still the only one where it mattered for any large amount of time. I really hate that because the system is really, really good, has a ton of great games to play but I gave the 3D a chance and still do occasionally and almost no one uses it for anything of value, and I hate that because it could be really cool. Thankfully, its optional so at least the wasted potential doesn't hurt anything. Its just DS with GCN level graphics and a decent eShop, works for me. shrugs

The only game I don't use the 3D effect on is Pokemon, for obvious reasons. Everything else, it's either the 3D way. But make no mistake. If it didn't have the 3D effect at all, it wouldn't stop me from enjoying the system.

Had it since day one and I use it exclusively. It never gets old for me. I have never played a Pokemon game in my life, so I haven't encountered the issues with 3D in that game.

Lan

Almost always, not in Pokemon though. It's only on for single battles and a few indoor areas, and it's not worth dipping down to like 15 frames per second. That said, ALBW looks absolutely fantastic in 3D, running at 60 frames per second. I'll take a high framerate over fancy graphics any day.

Exactly how I feel. I'm a lot more impressed by the scale of games in the 3rd dimension (as in actually moving in 3 dimensions) than I am the visual effect. The fact that I could play a game like 3D Land on the go kind of blew my mind when I first saw it.
