Topic: Do you use the 3D?

I tried using it a few times with Ocarina of Time 3D twice but I ended up getting a headache two times. The only ever time I ever use the 3D is in 3D Land and in cutscenes. Does the 3D effect really improve the experience in playing the game that much? I don't know whether to use the 3D for Link between worlds or not.

There have been like a million threads asking this. But yes. Except on Pokemon.

Try easing yourself into it. The headaches are likely caused by your eyes not being use to video having that extra information. Also try it with a slow moving game, Fire Emblem is about the right speed. I got headaches from the stereoscopic effect at first because my eyes were trying to focus on a happy medium, having been so use to video always being flat. But after you get use to it, it's a big difference for some games, others it can get in the way. Games that only use the effect sometimes will also need it turned of, like Pokemon, they really dropped the ball on that one.

If I could just bust the 3D slider off at MAX I would do so.

Pokemon's only problem is the horrid framerate.

I never use it. I think the only game I used it briefly on was Luigi's Mansion. That's probably the best looking game as far as the 3D effect goes. Other than that, I haven't used it other than for cinematics (IE: Fire Emblem: Awakening) or just to see how a game looks with it on. I just prefer to play the games without.

I use the 3D quite often actually. However there are games where it doesn't really make a huge difference (I.E. Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Pokemon, and NSMB2). I still keep the 3D on in those cases, but those are the games I am most likely to turn it off. I'm almost willing to say the 3D function shines the most in apps like the 3DS Camera, Swapnote, and Colors 3D to be honest.

Yes, I do, all the time. And, as many of these threads have shown in the past, so do a lot of people. Just in case somehow this thread turns into "I personally don't use it, so its a gimmick and Nintendo should get rid of it".

Ocarina of Time 3D was the only game I played where prolonged 3D effect on full hurt my eyes a little after some time, but to be fair its one of the systems earliest games. 3DS Games are all much better with the 3D in my opinion. I'm sorry that some people cant see the 3D, or that some people get headaches because of it, but to say it isn't an enjoyable feature otherwise is a bit ridiculous.

@Everyone sniping that there have already been threads like this:
Yes, we do like to avoid forum duplication when possible. But if you're aware of duplication, please take the time to find the relevent thread and post a link instead of some passive-agressive snark. That helps nobody, and that's not the appropriate atmosphere. Be constructive...we're all friends here!

On topic: I use it every time I can. I personally love the 3D. One recent exception for me, though, is Etrian Odyssey: Milennial Girl Untold. I need to keep readjusting my grip on the 3DS to handle both combat and map-drawing, so while the 3D in that game is nice, it does get annoying when you're always changing the angle at which you look at the screen. That's the only game I consistently play with it off.

Kingdom Hearts 3D, Luigi's Mansion 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, Etrain Odyssesy: MG, Street Fighter IV, and some more games really use the 3D well. Some games are blurry with 3D on but some others look really good with it.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!
