Topic: Do you use a case with your 3DS?

Currently I am deciding if I should use a case for my 3DS or not. I did not use any case for my ds lite and it still works fine. The outside looks very beat up and scratched but the inside is nearly flawless. Any opinons out there?

Do you mean a clip-on 'shell', or just a carrying case for when you're not using it?

I don't have a 3DS but I have my other DS consoles in zip-up hard cases for when I'm carrying them in a bag or whatnot so they don't get too beat up (I like to keep my stuff in as good a condition as I can).

I think a shell is really a personal preference thing - you can't get much better protection, other than not using your console at all, but are you willing to add the extra bulk and have it perhaps look worse?

I really just play my systems at home, so just a storage case is fine with me. I'd probably consider a permanent shell if I was lending them to people or playing them on the way to work on the bus or something, but I don't think I need one at the moment.

I was thinking of getting a gelaskin. You put whatever design you want on it and it wraps around your 3DS. Perfect for scratch protection. Gelaskins.com also has premade designs. It doesn't offer drop protection however, but I'm usually careful with it. Anyone use gelaskins before?

i use a leather like case for my 3ds. It works and looks brilliant!
