When I first got the 3DS I was playing almost exclusively in 3D. Now I usually leave it off. It's a cool effect in some games, and really impressive looking. But, I really prefer playing games the old-fashioned 2D way (same with watching movies). Plus, I find it can trigger a headache. Do you find you mostly play in 3D, 2D, or only one or the other?
Feel free to add me!

2D. You may find me weird, but I cannot tell how the 3DS is 3D. I miss the old 3D where it looks like objects are headed straight for you. I can't tell how it is 3D, even though my head still hurts with it on! LOL. I agree @maxcriden, I prefer 2D for games and videos, it seems to do me better too, and I hate receiving headaches from 3D.

Pretty much this. I kind of see it sometimes, but it hurts my eyes. I only play with it on in games where I can see it very well (like Mario Kart 7 for some reason).

3D, whenever possible. There is depth in the games that I like to have.
You can look further into the screen, and closer objects are out of focus just like it would be without the illusion.
I've played a hanful of games in 3D for the PS3 as well, including:
Mortal Kombat
Killzone 3
Motorstorm: Apocalypse
Socom 4
I just like the 3D effect. Autostereo and passive 3D are the best, IMO.

I feel like the effect sometimes makes it look like a living diorama, almost a window into another world. But then in other games the effect makes it seem like stuff is popping out. Take like Super Mario 3D Land, Kingdom Hearts DDD, or Animal Crossing. In those games I feel like I'm in the world. But playing in 3D for Project X Zone or DKCR its more things popping out. Not in a literal sense of popping out but the background - foreground is more noticeable. So I guess that's a long way of saying I play in 3D when its called for hahahaha. But its really the lil things like info boxes or HUD a whole layer over the action is a nice touch in my eyes.
Animal Crossing is everything I wanted and full of things I didn't even knew I wanted
3D almost always. Usually half on though. My girlfriend likes to watch me play Luigi's Mansion at the mo so have to play it in 2D mostly
That's awful. Break up with her. It's worth the 3D effect in the game...
Despite my joking, I would probably tell her to buy her own 3DS before turning mine on 2D, which is why I'll be forever alone. Zero flexibility. Girls don't like it.
I always play in 3D. It always improves the game. The added depth is always welcome, I don't get headache from it either. It has a way of making it feel like the objects on the screen are bigger without making the field of view any smaller, fact, if I remeber correctly, sometimes it makes the field of view feel bigger. It also draws my eyes my eyes to the screen more too.
I always use the 3D in every new game I get, if the 3D is good and somehow makes the game better, I keep it on most of the time, if the 3D isn't that great and makes my head and leg hurt, then no thanks.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
I never use it. I have the original 3DS, so it drains the already poor battery even further, and the super backlit screen makes the screen look like one giant smudge. I also really don't like having to find the "sweet spot", and I just don't care about the effect in general.
