Yeah iam not kidding you can use a iphone headset/handsfree.

It would help a lot if you would explain your point a little better. A picture wouldn't hurt either.

3ds mic sucks. if you plug in a iphone handfree in your 3ds, you can use the mic on the iphone handsfree for voice chat and other voice things on 3ds and ds games

I've looked looked at the contact points inside the 3DS jack and have suspected this for some time.

Basically, Nintendo didn't do away with external microphone input, but instead integrated it into one more widely used jack. This means that the 3DS works with both standard (headphone) 3.5mm plugs (3contact points), but also certain headsets containing a mono mic (4 contact points).

you should know that iphone has other handsfree type then sony ericsson, nokia and other smartphones. Even tough they have identical 3,5 plug (with 4 contact points) I know i have tries ipone, nokia and sony ericsson handsfree
