In the press letter on "3DS Hits 4 Million" article, I was skimming the press release when I saw this:
"With a strong lineup of software on the horizon, including new installments in the Mario Party, Pokémon and Kid Icarus franchises..."
Did Nintendo just announce that there's going to be a new Pokemon and Mario Party game?! And why hasn't there been an article specifically about this news anywhere else? I know that their had to be one eventually, but this makes it seem like it should come out this year; hopefully we'll get some more concrete information soon.
Maybe they meant the new Wii games since the Wii was mentioned in that same press release. Not surprising if they did reveal a new Pokemon game though. Coro Coro said they would reveal a new one in January.

Hmm, that's probably what it is then. They really should specify platforms, I got all excited for a minute.
It is most likely referring to the Mario Party 9 and Poke Park 2, Nintendo of America's PR isn't perfect. Remember when they forgot to mention SwapNotes release?
