I'm very disappointed with nintendo for sending me 2 new 3ds xl mh4u that are defective. Nintendo's customer rep was not helpful either, she acted pissed over the phone for complaining about their defective unit. She told me to use a toothbrush to clean the buttons and sides of the touchscreen. They should've done that before sending their product. On one unit, all the buttons and touchscreen were unresponsive. On the 2nd unit, all the buttons were unresponsive but the touchscreen was working.
I tried cleaning them with a toothbrush as instructed but still had the same problem. I'm pissed, I will just return both of them in gamestop.

Just a warning if you didnt buy them from Gamestop you will only get the trade in value.

That's very rare. I actually pre ordered the MH4U 3DS and thought it was defective because it wouldn't connect online, I was on the phone with the rep for over two hours. Finally I decided to just turn the unit off and back on and it started working, and has worked fine ever since.

If it's really defective you can send them into Nintendo free of charge for repair. I had a repair setup myself when all of a sudden I got mine working. Shouldn't be a problem, just call up, say blah blah blah unit isn't working right, set up a repair. They'll email you a shipping label, drop it off at UPS and you should be all good.

NFERNO

I've had no trouble at all with my MH4 system, so I'd definitely set up a repair.

Very unlucky, but send them in for repair they will send you monster hunter unit back repaired..... I have the Majora's Mask New 3DS XL and have no major issues. My screen moves and has small gap between hinge but lots of people seem to have it in the hinge thread. I noticed the finishing on the A B Y X Buttons seem to be a bit rough on mine, bit scuffed in a line on each botten but you can barley see it. I'm happy with what I got but my 3DS XL was built better imo, but having a small % of launch consoles that have problems is normal, it happens with every massive console launch.
