Here's an interesting Easter Egg I discovered: Play as Tina against any opponent at either "Frozen Peaks" or "The White Storm." Get your opponent backed up against the edge of a hill and execute a throw while pressing the direction towards your opponent. Instead of the normal scene transition, Tina will throw her opponent face down into the snow, sit on his/her back, and use him/her as her personal sled as she slides down the hill.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

I haven't played the Dead or Alive games much (the last one I played was a demo of DoA2 for the Dreamcast). How do they compare to other 3D fighters like Tekken and Virtua Fighter?
Depends on taste but to me it's superior. It's not a straight up button masher with a heap of presses to do stuff. I mean you can try to do that, but you won't get far. This game uses a rock scissors paper model of play which is unique. You can strike, dodge, or counter attack in a fight when a move comes at you and it's quite fun as it gives a more sensible feeling to the fight.

I'd actually say it's more of a button masher, even if the button mashing is brief because of the counters. Definitely not as technical as Tekken or especially Virtual Fighter, but the fighting is still fast, smooth and fun. I like it a lot, this being my first DOA and being a big Tekken fanboy.

Well if you want a real button masher, play any Capcom fighting game (especially Marvel vs Capcom).
Each character has a special animation and they work for eternal helix stairs too. I have not tried all yet, but from the ones I have already seen La mariposa has the weirdest (both characters fall from the stairs but only the opponent receives damage).
