For my situation, I broke my original 3ds XL but with my warranty the replaced it for me. at the store we moved my downloaded games from the system to the sd card and all I had to do was copy it from the sd card to the new system. So when I got home I put the new card in and its not detecting anything on the sd card. I already tried to reformat it and checked the lock on it and still nothing. I tried to put pictures on it to from my computer and it cant find those either. I don't think its the card cuz it worked with my old system and I have a new one that came with the new system that I could try to transfer all my stuff to but I don't think its the card. is it an issue with the new system? my old system ive hard since November. not much to go with by searching online. if anyone can help id appreciate it!

Did you do the system transfer process?

no I didn't really know what that was I didn't want to erase anything. I don't have the old system anymore I thought maybe the guy at best buy would have done that but he thought the sd card was going to work

I think it needed to be transferred first, or it might not load up due to the system thinking you might be using someone else's games.

if you or the shop assistant didn't do the sytem transfer, your eShop purchases are still tied to the old 3DS. Get in touch with Best Buy to see if they still have the old console.

If they don't still have the old system you're screwed... sorry. I actually feel bad for you; I hope you didn't have many games on it?

You can check about the transfer process being done or not if you go to the eshop, search for the games you bought and if it says you can redownload, you just need to do that. If it says for you to purchase, then they're still on the old system.
