After a quick search I notice there are plenty of topics regarding 3DS System transfers but not this specific one.
Basically, I use an original 3DS (includes all downloaded games as well) when travelling and an XL at home. I intend to do a system transfer from the 3DS to a New 3DS I just got. But first, if I was to system transfer from the 3DS to the 3DS XL, will it combine all the Play Data, Title Library, Time recorded per title from each system? (I.e if I played 40 hrs of Bravely Default on the 3DS & 70 hrs on the XL, after the system transfer will it show it as 110 hrs on the XL?)
I then intend to transfer it all to the New 3DS even if I have to wait a week after the first transfer.
It will replace all the data from the target system with that of the source system.
Only your purchases will be combined, but you'll have to redownload everything from the target system again.
I don't think you'll be able to keep your save files for the digital titles in the target system either.
Thanks for the info. I don't have any digital games on the XL so nothing to worry about there. I really just wanted it so my New 3DS would have the combined total play times in the Records of all the games I had played on both systems.
Nothing really important though, though still wish Nintendo would get its act together and allow centralised accounts on multiple systems.
