Topic: Creating a special mii

Unfortunately, Nintendo of Europe seems to have no interest whatsoever in distributing special gold pants miis. Accordingly, is there anyone out there who could circumvent this with a bit of clever programming? I realise that this is not a major issue in terms of how the 3DS functions, but the lack of special miis in the EU renders the INBUILT accomplishment system ridiculous. The staggering amount of mii hits needed already makes the accomplichment system a bit of joke, but remains at least theoretically possible with effort. The collection of special miis though is entirely dependent on Nintendo's distribution system. From looking on auction sites (alot) it seems that people do not sell 3DS systems on which they have invested much time in the plaza and associated games. Does this mean that the plaza and mii features are providing personal attachment to the system because of the amount of time invested? That's true in my case, at least. It therefore seems counterintuitive of Nintendo to not support the very features that foster the user's relationship with their device. Nintendo's response is to point to all of their great games and other ways to enjoy the console. Well, yes I do. That doesn't stop me wanting the special miis accomplishment though.

So, anyone out there got a way to make a personal mii into a gold pants mii? After over 3 years, I just want to get that rotten accomplishment ticked off. It may seem a bit unethical to do what must be hacking of some sort. However, isn't it unethical to sell a system with INBUILT software that isn't supported FULLY by the company?

if someone discovers this, they won't put it on internet or Nintendo will make another pointless system update to stop it in no time.
and by pointless I mean, they should at least add something noteworthy every once in a while to not make it so obvious that they made upgrades in the safety against hacks.

Or Nintendo could start distributing the special miis! Which is the real purpose here...

I have 14 Special Miis.

The solution to the problem is distribution, not a hack that can be easily mitigated.

Only one of them was a Nintendo Zone distribution. All the other 13 were automatically distributed through SpotPass.

EDIT: In fact, I did miss a couple of the Special Miis as well through the Nintendo Zone.

the real problem is that my wifi doesn't reach my room so my 3DS is out of spotpass most of the time even less in days like the E3 when I want to know the news.

I got all the accomplishments with special Miis

I can't count how many I have because I have about 1000 Miis in my plaza

The US and Japan have had way more special miis released than the EU. No idea why. There have only ever been 9 in the EU and none since E3 2013. I have pleaded with Nintendo to release more - they are not interested. If someone were to create one single special mii and upload it to Homepass, the problem would be solved with no need for any more hacking at all. Homepass does not hack your console in any way. It would be simpler and better if Nintendo would distribute them. But they don't. I've had my 3DS plugged in with the charger when not playing since launch, waiting for that blue light. I get blue lights for game updates for other games, but nothing in the way of special miis for over a year. In fact, there have been only 2 events where EU special miis have been released - one on the first year anniversary of the 3DS and then 8 released to coincide with E3 2013. That's it! I wondered if it was a problem with localisation, but if other games have plenty of download updates via the blue light, then that can't be the reason. The only way to get Nintendo to fix this is to bombard them with requests. The email address for Nintendo UK is [email protected] It will be different in other countries, of course. I don't want pirated games, but I do want Nintendo to allow me to play the games I have bought from them by providing the means to do so via their network where necesary and appropriate. They made major steps forward with the relay stations, but the special miis have been forgotten. It is driving me nuts. I do not understand what the problem is here. It seems like total disinterest and that is unacceptable from a company in which I have invested a large amount of my hard-earned moolah in buying their consoles and games. At this point I would pay for the ability to get a visit from a special mii. Visits from special miis are good for publicising games, especially since they stopped the letterbox function. I cannot understand this.

But they do...

The problem is you're apparently one of not many who have a problem with this, and quite frankly it shouldn't be that big of a deal anyway.

You received products for your hard-earned moolah, so they owe you nothing.

I have the INBUILT console software that I cannot complete because of the refusal to distribute special miis. Otherwise, I have outlined my position and don't care a hoot that you disagree. There are plenty of others who do want to see more special miis. If you don't, then it's not an issue for you so stay out of it!

curious to know how many you guys get in a year. We get like.... hardly any in NA as well. Mostly during E3 and rarely when there was some announcement. I right now counted 8 since E3 of 2013 and that includes the 3 we got at E3 of 2014 and so you claim that you got 9 since the last.... that is better than us. Of course, it is possible that I missed some but my 3DS is connected to the internet for at least 10 hours a day 90% of the time..
