Topic: Copying Saved Games To DS card?

Hi Nintendolife, I just finished my favorite eShop title so far, Mighty Switch Force. I've also completed the bonus DLC.
I won't be replaying this awesome game anytime soon. In the meantime other titles beckon.
my question's are these,

Is it possible for me to copy my saved game data to another SD card like on the DSI?
If deleted, will the 3DS access my saved game when downloaded again?

I'd like to free up some space so play a game I've wanted since I was a kid, Metroid II: Return of Samus.
hope to hear back soon, thanks and happy gaming.

Do you not have enough room on the included SD card?

GB/GBC/GG games are usually only around 35 - 50 blocks. Sorry if this is not a direct answer to your question, but if you're struggling for space for a GB game, then maybe you should consider getting a bigger SD card...

You can back up the files on your computer, as long as you don't go into the files. That's how you swap over your data to a new SD card and your computer only has 1 SD card slot.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.

thanks guys. I've been using the SD card that came with the 3DS. i've bought 2 bigger SD cards for my camera recently, and don't feel like shelling out the extra cash again...I know, and he calls himself a gamer?!?! lol. Metroid II wasn't too bulky. It came out to 39 blocks, but I got rid of Mighty Switch Force anyway.
backing up the files isn't such a bad idea after all. I do share the 3DS with my 3yr old. they are notorious for being "the reason we can't have nice things" lol.

Do this to safely transfer:

Put both SD cards in your computer (If your computer has two built in slots, if not you need to get two SD card readers)

If one SD card is COMPLETELY UNUSED, then copy the data from the one you are currently using to that one. DO NOT MOVE OR DRAG THE INDIVIDUAL ITEMS.

Then that way you can copy the data to a bigger SD card safely.

If you use Both SD cards at the same time, you can back up by carefully copying to your computer. Just don't edit or screw up your files.

thanks man. I saved the entire 3DS folder to my computer. I was going to test the method, but don't know which file to copy back over to the SD card.

Easier method!

Insert old SD card in your computer. Copy the entire folder into a folder. Then put in a new SD card and copy that folder into the new SD card. Easy!
