^ I said that looking at screenshots. After seeing the game in motion the cutscenes look very nice to me. It astonishes me how ugly some 3DS games become when you take screenshots. My opinion on the cutscenes has done a complete 180.
im so glad i didnt stay up all night to see this game being revealed
round based?? the only round based game i like is advance wars. this looks like it would be better with realtime combat.
so far i dont have any hopes for this game but i will wait for some more footage
It has real-time elements. It sounds more like Valkyria Chronicles where you can move and attack in real time for a limited amount of time. At least I think. Details have been a bit scarce.
3DS games ALWAYS look better
A) When they're in motion
and
B) When you're actually playing them on a 3DS
And when they're displayed in glorious 3d!
Sometimes. Some games have awful 3D and actually look worse (looking at you, Pokemon). Other games, though, like Fire Emblem or Donkey Kong really benefit from the 3D treatment.

I really miss it sometimes on my Wii U. Things just look too flat sometimes. Especially pinball. It will be sad if the next Nintendo system be it handheld, console, or 2 in one won't have at least the option to display it in 3d. It has spoiled me to the point where playing 3ds games in 2d actually gives me a headache!

Based on the way people have reacted and how Nintendo has responded, I imagine this will probably be the only Nintendo machine that plays in stereoscopic 3D. I mean, Nintendo even released a 3DS without 3D! I doubt they'll keep a 3D slider for full backwards compatibility, so I will likely be keeping my 3DS even when the next handheld hits because some games I really like playing with the 3D on.
Sometimes I'm caught between comfort and enjoyment when it comes to the 3D. The 3DS Professor Layton games, for instance, probably have the best 3D I've seen on the system. The amount of depth in the environments is astonishing. That game involves a lot of reading and squinting, though, so my eyes becomes tired VERY quickly when I'm playing the game in 3D. My compromise is to turn on the 3D when I'm exploring new environments, and to turn it off the rest of the time.
My best guess is that the next Nintendo handheld will visually be somewhere close to where the PS Vita is right now. It's possible a future Nintendo console could support 3D TV compatibility, though. I doubt Nintendo is entirely done with 3D. I just don't see another natively 3D machine like this coming out in the future.

No way. I am 100% sure that the 3D is here to stay. They released a 2DS as a lower cost option etc but they understand that 3D adds a lot visually and for gameplay. It is brilliant, and it makes it stand out when every mobile goes for better screen, 3D just has that extra beauty. They're big on backward compatibility too and I'm sure they'll keep the option. Not a slider but an on/off 3D button.

That would be the Wii U, I believe. For some reason with ACIII.

I've heard only the gamepad displays 3d in ACIII. It's there as an option but no one uses it.

You can play it in 3D if you have a 3D TV.
I was having a look through the options and found it there so tried it out for the sake of it... It looked pretty terrible and made the game a bit harder to play, but it's definitely there.
this game keeps looking better and better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel that this will be an outstanding game!!!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

It looked terrible even with the glasses?

Intelligent Systems? Check
Comic book inspiration a la Jack Kirby? Check
Freedom Fighters influence (one of the best god **** games of all time)? Check, check.
X-Com influence (4 man squad, fighting aliens)? Check
Bioshock, steampunky world influence? Check
Valkyrie Chronicles influence? Double check.
Day mother ****ing ZERO. I don't care if it's 60 bucks. Game looks amazing visually! People who don't get the aesthetic...well...I feel sorry for you. The ONLY thing I do not like is that they should have gone full bore Silver Age superheroes, or at the very least, just made it modern superheroes. I've said for a long time now, IS could make this game, as making Fire Emblem they are good with huge casts, great villains, and awesome storylines.
Imagine deploying over 3-5 mission arcs, with 4 different superheroes, from different teams around the world. And no...not Marvel or DC. IS would make up their own world and heroes. This is the only thing that disappoints me. So close to my dream game. Oh so close...
But, I will still get it. Day zero. I'm there. This game looks epic, to me. Truly epic. Best game of E3 from Nintendo, and I'm not joking. Yes, better than X...sorry...superheroes, and superhero influenced games get top billing from me.
