The cheapest I've found so far is shopto.net's £199.85. This is more in line with what I was going to pay...

Anyone found anything lower?

They seem a bit dodgy too...they want to verify credit card details before I have preordered anything by 'charging me a pound which will be instantly refunded'. Are these guys legit? I'd rather use paypal...

I pre-order from them regularly. They are legit mate.

You can also pay through paypal on there (which is one of the reasons I use it instead of amazon now). Mate of mine preed from GameGears at £194.99, but they're sold out.

Ahh, that's only a few quid compared to the 30 or so I'll be saving at shopto. Cheers

Shopto are trustworthy, bought 2 consoles, and an uncountable number of games from them

O_o I saw somewhere that, the UK price was $15 dollar more than US....Perhaps it was somebody that imports the american version of the console. [Skimming Twitter]

I use Shopto all the time, their website is a bit clunky to use, but they are certainly trustworthy and always deliver the goods a day or two early.

That's where my 3DS preorder is

If you find that out, you should definitely share that information with others here since the 3DS will be region locked and its just not worth the hassle. I just got screwed by a marketplace seller on Buy.com who sold me a UK Blu Ray when it clearly listed the US version on their product page and on their invoice, Buy isn't being very helpful to me either, last time I do business with them definitely.

What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

Shopto is one of my favourite game shops but I don't know whether I should preorder the 3DS so early!?

Yeah I just preordered from them, and they have a price drop guarantee, so if the price falls before launch day, they'll take it off, which made me stop worrying about the 'early' pre-order. . Decided to get SSFIV3DS (man that's a long acronym...) while I was there too, which brought the overall price up to what amazon and HMV are charging for the console only. Makes me feel good inside.

It was a tweet and the guy seemed rather disgusted by the price. I don't know if I can find it on twitter anymore.

Everything might be regionally lock because they don't want people importing to save money.[I thats true than why do they regionally lock the Japanese version, I guess because its an hassle? Things make no sense, I did hear that Japan's is suffering from bad economy. If they make games region free over there, it would help and there are people who love to import, especially the games you would never see in america. Save money on console = more money to spend on imports. I know some of you all play Love Plus. LOL ]

Hia. Although the price on shopto.net is great, you may want to look at this:

'As this is the hottest release of the year we are still awaiting information from Nintendo regarding stock allocations.
Until we receive this information we cannot guarantee any delivery dates for your preorder. As soon as we receive information you will be notified by email.'

Going to use Zavvi - know I'll get it fine from their.

Just to clarify the cheapest is £195 thereabouts at the moment that is $308US so that's not a $15 difference.

Asda have a good deal where you get the 3DS plus a game for £229 or £202 for the console itself.

ShopTo are by far the cheapest but you might find that sooner or later stock allocation might be an issue for them. Considering tons of Brits know about their price. I remember Play had an issue keeping up with Wii preorders back in the day, certainly preordering early in any case is a good idea if your keen on getting a system at launch!

It should be noted that Game/Gamestation have the cheapest deal...IF your willing to give up a DS Lite/ DSi. Its totally not worth the price the system is pegged at otherwise

AMAZON UK BARGAIN!!!!
£202!

Play and amazon down to £202.00 for 3DS pre-orders. Some of the amazon 3DS software prees are down to £29.91 (Eg. Ocarina, Prof Layton, Pilotwings) - but not all. Have ordered some games from shopto (as usual) and some from amazon dependent on price. I only have Mario Kart and Paper Mario at the £34.85 price now. The rest are under £30 (that's about 4 or 5 other software)
