And dont tell me that it's not localised because the australian eshop shows it... HELP! also, if you do help me, where is the cheapest place to get it? preowned/second hand is okay but not online...

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever noticed it around in the shops.
Not sure why that is, but if you can't find it anywhere then the Internet might be the way to go if that's an option for you.
If not then maybe try somewhere like Gametraders, as they tend to import a lot of games from Europe so a lot of the time they'll have games that I don't see anywhere else.

Are there no gamestores that sell used and new stuff near you? (I guess you've probably tried that) Or there's always sites online that sell games. Or you could ask the gamestore to order it for you, most of the time they can do that or they can check with other local stores to see who has it on-hand. Other than that, I think you can get the original 2D game completely for free for PC from the Nicalis website if all else fails and you just really really desperately want to play the game. Oh, and I don't know about AU, but here in NA we have the 2D version of the game in the 3DS eshop, it's been out forever so they probably have it there in AU too. I know you probably want the 3D version, but it's worth mentioning. That's how I got a copy and it's great until you get to the end where it becomes INSANELY IMPOSSIBLE and you have to fight like 4 bosses in a row, ending up with no health sad face. I can make it to the final boss, but I finally gave up and just plan to replay the game from scratch one day, get the Snake gun, and see if that helps at all.

good with a speeding bullet ;p -

I haven't ever actually tried playing a European game on an australian 3DS, but the fact that you can switch your profile region to Australia on European 3DS' (And vice versa) makes me think that they should be fine.

Your 3DS can play games from Europe, yes.

A reputable online shop for Australia is ozgameshop. I, and plenty of people I know, have bought from them before with no problems. They're cheap and reliable, although you will have to wait a week or so for shipping. (They ship from the UK to Australia).

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

It's only exclusive to jb? And it's expensive... do they sell it preowned?
Oh, and if anyone knows, when is it coming to dsiware here?

Have you checked out NIS' website? Though you would have to settle for international shipping, it may turn out a little pricier than you'd might like.

*edit: oh yea, the 3DS is region-locked isn't it? D'oh ... god that's stupid

Personally (and speaking from experience) I prefer the original Cave Story to the 3DS release. The remixed music sounds fantastic, but the occasional slow-down and awkward animations, and the sometime indistinguishable platform make the new release not worth the $40 price tag. If you can, buy the $10 DSiWare version - it's 10x better.

Does anyone actually have the version marked AUS or are all PAL ones EUR? Because if they are available I guess one could consider the AUS editions as collectors' items. That's a shame, I was actually thinking of getting this.

Expensive? The link listed here says it's $29. That's an extreme bargain for a retail 3DS game! They usually retail at $69.95. You shouldn't worry about buying online, especially from an online retailer like JB. It looks like your best bet for getting the game.

As for the DSiWare version even if it ever comes out in Europe it probably won't make it to Australia due the high costs that Nintendo Australia have for publishing games. It happens to a lot of WiiWare/DSiWare actually. But with a 3DS you can at least change your region to Europe and access their eShop which will let you download it there if it comes out.

Wow! I just checked now and the price dropped! thanks for letting me know! I'll get this as soon as possible! I just hope it's not a sale and the price will be bumped up again...
But seriously, Your comment made my day!

I think the game stock is quite limited worldwide, here in the UK it's nowhere to be seen in Retail stores and online Amazon always only seem to have a "few in stock".
Shame, as it's a good game!
