Topic: Caution about the Nyko Power pack battery for 3ds

I don't really post often but I lurk around this site everyday
anyway, I felt like making this topic because my Nyko power pack battery for the OG 3ds which i bought last year around this time recently stopped working altogether. I feel really confused and frustrated because it happened so suddenly and without any particular reason. I used my black 3ds moderately so I am not sure if it had an effect onto anything. I just wanted to warn people because i bought this product thinking it would last me a long time but in reality only worked for a year
Now I switched over to my old battery but things are not really the same anymore because I am used to playing for 5-7 hours without needing a charge. I don't want to buy another power pak after this incident even though it made my 3ds super comfortable with the extra layer on the bottom. I feel like upgrading to the XL but I don't feel good about its portability since I go out a lot and I play out on my way to work. Another thing keeping me from buying the power pak again is that when I installed the nyko battery, It caused some damage to my 3ds softwares by resetting the clock and dates of streetpass, the settings, and etc... As a result I could not streetpass my friends and family anymore who were the source of most of my hits
I don't even know what to do anymore...so while I am sharing my experience with you guys, I hope you can give me some advice on what course of action to take before XY get out in october

I've had that same Nyko powerpack for two years now and I haven't had any issues. I, too, like the extra weight and grip it gives, along with the longer battery life. I also did not experience any issues with software after installing the battery. I think the only thing I may have had to do after the install was reset the time. Sorry to hear you've had some problems with it.

That said I'll be upgrading to a black XL when they come out next week. Maybe you should do the same!
