I was really looking forward to this but was a little disappointed by the demo. The 2D Castlevania's controls feel tighter and more responsive to me, whereas this felt slower and "heavier". The animations and physics felt a little slow too, but I guess that's the trade-off moving to polygons...

And i think that's what is ultimately making the experience seem more enjoyable than it really is. Turn off the 3D and the magic goes 'poof'. This truly is a stereocopic 3D showcase for the 3DS. Yet it doesn't play or control like any of the traditional castlevania games, as expected. If anything it seems kind of simular to a 2D God of war with Metroidvania elements thrown in. ,I'm also not too crazy over the floaty jumping and the music at least in the demo didn't exactly stand out. It's a beautiful game no doubt, but it sacrifes framerate(runs in 30fps instead of 60fps) to bust out the crazy detail.
Maybe if the jumping didn't feel so floaty, the controls weren't as heavy and if your actions weren't a as delayed I'd be a bit more excited. As somebody already pointed out, the older Castlevania's feel more responsive and tighter.
