The game is easily comparable in production values to Resident Evil 4(possibly better even) and it using a bigger card which will add to the production cost. I think it can easily justify being the same price as Wii games. However that doesn't mean you have to pay the highest price asked. Amazon.com still has it for $40, order from there.

Strangely it seems to be standard price in Europe even though it's being dubbed into five languages. Guess NOE may be taking that cost on.

You mean RE: 5. Resident Evil 4 didn't use the MT Framework.

Still I want the Case so gamestop it is.

@bonesy91 On the contrary, RE: Mercs sold solidly so I don't think that would be a factor. As long as it lasts long as RE5 I'm content, though its not a day one for me anymore. But hey, with production values that would rival some console games, I guess they need some extra cash to accomodate these extra efforts. Will get it eventually, I'm a big RE nut and I even enjoyed Gaiden on the GBC.

Well I don't know if I'd say the production values are quite that high but it's definitely nipping at Resi 5's heels which is quite the accomplishment.

I'm still getting it. From the looks of it, Capcom has made a quality title on 3DS, and if people are going to whine, don't complain when devs and publishers stop supporting the 3DS.

Capcom even threw in an online mode which they did not even have to. And 4GB? Some games on Wii don't even use that amount.

And 20 hours is damn good for an RE game especially with all the cutscenes and potential extras. This a full package folks.

What's with the idle threat, you don't speak for Nintendo or Capcom and it's ludicrous to blame your fellow gamers if 3rd parties struggle on the 3DS. You want the game badly and you're willing to pay the asking price, leave it at that.

You are what you eat from your head to your feet.

That's the reality. Same thing Happened with the Wii. People ****** and moaned about how the wii Never got any support. But When it Did get support and Original Ip's no one bought them. (Dead Space Extraction, Little Kings story, House of the dead overkill, Zack and Wiki).

b-b-but how am i supposed to know whether a game is good if it isn't a sequel that's exactly the same as the previous game? I'm only someone who spends 20 hours a day at gaming sites, I wouldn't know ANYTHING about it! Now leave me to buy my super hardcore only I know about it difficult indy games like Modern Warfare and Prototype! It's hardcore because it's played by people who don't play games all the time!

@shingi I'm not sure Dead Space Extraction would be a good point considering it's very different from the rest of the series from a gameplay perspective. Not to mention that and HotD Overkill eventually got PS3 ports which are arguably better.

Here's the explanation:

"Resident Evil Revelations is an all new Resident Evil title with over 20 hours of gameplay, and cutscenes beautifully rendered in fear-inducing 3D. A true console experience on a handheld device, Resident Evil Revelations is an epic title that offers both a single-player campaign for that classic survival horror gaming experience, and an additional RAID mode that can be played cooperatively or single player. To handle all of that data Resident Evil Revelations requires a 4GB cartridge, resulting in a higher price point." - Capcom spokesperson

If it gives you the value of a full fledged console then I don't see the problem here. I won't be buying it regardless because I don't like RE. Depending on how many people buy this might determine the price of future big titles like MGS.

Poor marketing? Lack of support from retailers? Nintendo promoting its first parties and leaving the 3rd parties to fend for themselves? These are all factors that you are ignoring.

Don't be absurd, jacking up prices doesn't solve anything it just creates more problems and alienates consumers.

no it doesn't. Mario Kart DS was 44.99 but still tons of people bought it. How is Capcom charging 49.99 any different. Even Skylander's Spyro game is 69.99 yet people still bought it. It's got tons of content and is on a bigger card. I think it's worth the price. If you don't want to pay that much for handheld game then don't. But don't bash people for their own opinions.

Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury

Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword

I'm not threatening anyone. I'm just telling it like it is: If a game doesn't sell, publishers may not want to focus or make games for platforms- it has happened before.

KomicZ fair point then, if the game really does turn out to be worth the asking price I'm all for it, as long as $50 doesn't become a new standard for 3DS cartridges.

I don't think Mario Kart ever retailed for more than $34.99. For every example you can raise of higher priced games, I can counter with a game that sold at or below the average price, so it's a moot point.

You paid $44.99 for Mario Kart DS? I bought it for $34.99 at GameStop when it came out. You got ripped off. Skylanders is currently the biggest rip-off out there right now. Not only do you have to pay $70 for the game but to get the full experience you need to purchase additional figures to unlock certain portions of the game. It is a scam, plain and simple. Sure, a few people out there are buying it but that doesn't mean that it is worth it.

People out there need to learn how to shop smarter. The public stood up to greedy corporations like Bank of America and Netflix. I don't see why gamers aren't smart enough to do the same thing. You can say that it is only $10 but where does it end?

Skylander's is a ripoff. Thought The whole point of the Game was to be collectable and have a kid friendly Gimmick. Next You'll be telling me that the Downloadable content I bought for Mass Effect was a Rip-off.

I know that you are a fan of the game so I can see why you want to defend it. You should really read this review. Maybe you will find it enlightening. http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/31873/the-hidden-co...

I'm not a Fan of the game and Probably won't buy It but I do see the appeal and intrigue of the concept. I guess Coming from a childhood of Beyblade and Yu-gi-oh I can see why this would sale. (regardless of barrier of entry.)

Edit: I didn't know that Some parts in Level needed skylanders. I was thought that when you got a New Skylander You would get a new Level or A change to an existing Level. that sucks.
