Topic: Cant seem to launch game on daughters new 2DS - What am I missing?

Hi All,

I'm hoping theres a simple explanation for this, however I'm really confused as it stands.

I've just purchased my daughter at Nintendo 2DS (UK model as far as I'm aware) along with a copy of Nintendogs + Cats (For 3DS), however when I pop the cartridge into the console, nothing happens and this is her very first game.

At first I was trying to figure out how I'm supposed to start the game, however then realised from watching videos online that the game is meant to pop up as an icon to select. Which means for some reason, this console isn't detecting the game.

Although its a 3DS game, the case does state that its compatible with 2DS so I don't think compatibility is an issue. However, I did notice that the little code on the bottom of the game cartridge states USA - Is this my problem? Would the console be region locked?

@HobbitGamer thanks, so I can only play EUR games? I purchased the game from eBay and annoyingly the description didnt even make reference to it bring a USA game

@Ricky123 You've learned the lesson that we all did at some point in time with regard to region locked media. When buying on eBay you need to pay attention to the little codes on the cartridges, and look for PAL on the cases and in the listings.

Should be able to find another copy of that game for not much though.
