I only seem to get a solid connection when my 3DS is at home on our wifi. I am wondering if I can use my iPhone 4 as a hotspot for online gaming when I am out and about? My Vita for instance can see the IPhone 4 and use it as a solid Internet connection via its Bluetooth. I haven't been able to get the 3DS to see my iPhone 4 as a connection thus far. Perhaps someone else has figured out a way?
I've used my Android as a wifi hotspot before for my 3DS, so I'm certain you can get your iPhone to work too. That said I can't specifically help you out
I've connected my 3DS to my Android phone before.
Wouldn't play online with it though, I don't have much data usage and that would be the laggiest thing ever.
I've connected my 3DS to my friends iPhone before, but whatever you do, don't use it for any online gaming, it's laggy as hell and it ran up my friends data usage pretty quickly, lets just say he wasn't a very happy bunny lol. It's all right for using the browser, but that's it and when you have an iPhone handy, you might as well use that to surf the web.
As others have said, you can do it but it may cost more. I was going to use my Android as a WEP hot spot for DS connectivity, but unfortunately T-Mobile started recognising that my phone was attempting to use wifi tethering and wanted me to pay for it
That said, it will work.
I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
Yeah, I was only able to do my 3DS to 3DS XL data transfer at my local Gamestop because the employee there was nice enough to let me connect the two 3DS systems to his android phone (which he had rooted). I'm pretty sure if your phone functions as a hot spot it can connect to any device that picks up wifi signals.
