So, I know there has yet to be a COD game on the 3DS, but I was wondering if and when you guys think this may become a reality? Personally, I think Ghosts should have been on the 3DS, same goes for MW3 and Black Ops II, but so far we haven't seen a handheld COD game since the days of the Nintendo DS.

I want COD on my 3DS so bad I can taste it, hopefully this will become a reality sooner than later.....

Well, I'd play it if they made it... in fact, it'd probably be the only reason I'd even consider playing CoD. Likelihood that it'll come to the 3DS? Hard to say... but with the amount of sales the 3DS has been getting recently, I think they'd be smart to make a 3DS version... I'm sure I'm not the only one who wouldn't mind playing it on 3DS.

I know there were COD games on the DS, but they seem to be ignoring the 3DS as it pertains to COD. Hopefully this becomes rectified sooner than later...

How good were the DS Call of Duty games anyway? Without the second analog stick and less power than a Wii, I wouldn't say the console is a good fit for these kind of games. They would have to make Circle Pad Pro compulsory for it and optimize the living daylights out of it to get it running smoothly with 3D on and with Wii level graphics. Probably not worth the effort.
Playstation Vita is the only handheld that can handle current-gen games with minimal fuss. Not that it makes any difference on its fortunes.

They were actually fun, ran pretty smooth and fully customizable matchs, black ops had zombies that was alright but could of been done better.

My brother had a COD game I played with him using DS Download Play years ago around 2007 or 2008. It was hard to aim and I didn't even bother. I just moved around and shot at him aimlessly. Using the Circle Pad, it might be better to play but will be difficult to have both the movement controls and looking controls on the same side of the 3DS. Second Circle Pads may work well, however.

That's not entirely true. The 3DS is more capable in some areas, and less capable in others compared to the Wii. The screen is smaller, so they can play some tricks to get things looking better that way, as well(with 3D)

The concepts and features of plenty of games have changed based on design vs. hardware limitations, so I wouldn't count a console type game out of the equation for 3DS.

EDIT: Call of Duty 2 for Xbox 360

I'm pretty sure the 3DS would have no trouble at all running a game like this. Add online and you're good to go. I'm not saying they should port COD 2, but early Xbox 360/late GCN games tend to be a reference of what I think the 3DS is really capable of.

I still think that with the amount of 3DS consoles out there that they should give a COD game a shot on the console, it could be quite profitable in the end. The hardware is powerful enough to run COD 2 or COD 3, so they could use those engines to make a game for the 3DS. Bam, simple yet effective.

I agree. If Activision had the touch controlled FPS with Circle Pad Pro support as an option and it looked as good as COD2 or 3, I'm pretty sure people would take notice.

I have no clue why the PS Vita COD was so horrible(from what I've read). That was probably a rush job for some quick cash while probably struggling to figure out the Vita's hardware.

In conclusion, the graphics of COD 2 or 3 would still be effective on a smaller screen. Add the online mode people are familar with on the home console versions, and it's basically set.

I'm honestly surprised not that many "console type" games haven't migrated to 3DS, thus far.

It's probably taking them some time because they can't jusr reuse the same engine the used for the DS games and they need to make a new optimized one.

But I think they'll make CoDs for the 3DS eventually, from what I know they were quite successful on DS.

Bloop.

The 3DS is stronger than the Wii by quite a bit actually

As far as I'm aware the controls for CoD on the DS were uncomfortable to use. However since the 3DS has a circle pad and an additional circle pad with the CPP it could work out quite well. But I certainly wouldn't hold my breath of a CoD game coming to the 3DS. And if you really want a portable CoD game, there's one on the Vita which I've heard is good to play.

I don't think there will be. I'd say Activision showed how much they cared about handhelds with CoD: BO Declassified on Vita lol.

I don't think the 3DS needs Call of Duty. it can actually be any FPS(especially if it's not military FPS, but this part is just my personal preference, you could say it's just me whining about how I dislike standard, those "realistic and serious" ones, military FPS games) as long as it ends being good

I'd grab Call of Duty if it ever hit the 3DS. It was a blast on the DS and the 3DS's circle pad would make the experience that much more incredible. Add in circle pad pro support and you've got yourself a decent portable CoD experience. Online and it's a great one. Voice chat and you have a true mobile CoD.

I would snatch up a top quality Call of Duty title on the 3DS the second it came out and I truly believe that a Call of Duty game on the 3DS would do quite well and help to move some units. The slider pad is perfect for a game like Call of Duty and the shoulder buttons are perfectly place for aiming and shooting, that and the bottom screen would be a great screen for a map or for a weapon change in a pinch. Seriously, Activision or Infinity Ward or whoever is doing the COD games these days really need to find a way to bring the franchise to the 3DS because I think there could be a market there just waiting for a title like this to come to the console.

Maybe we'll see something next year when Modern Warfare 4 or Black Op's III see's release on home consoles? Only time will will, I suppose.

I would definitely buy a CoD game for the 3ds if it was a good quality game.

Pass, Call Of Duty holds no intrest for me. A FPS in the mold of Metroid Prime or Bioshock is a different story though.

Had the first Modern Warfare on the DS, was actually alot of fun. If they made a CoD suitable for the 3DS then i would be interested, think 3 vs 3 would be good for multiplayer like the other DS versions and short replayable campaign missions and you're sorted. Don't make a console game for a handheld though!

Or the OBVIOUS solution which you didn't look at is reduce the game to be ABLE to run the a version of the game. I LIKED the DS game storylines and they were different from their opposite console versions. The multiplayer was really fun too, zombies was just harder than Black Ops on console though.

I have nothing really to say about myself.
