I'm going to Japan soon. If I buy a 3ds LL/XL /Regular from Japan. If i bring it to the UK can I change the language? Also will it function in the UK? And if I buy a game from the UK will it function on this 3DS?

The 3DS is currently region locked, so UK games won't work on a Japanese 3DS and vice versa.
I'm not sure if the language can be set to english on a Japanese 3DS though.

You'd also need a transistor for the different voltage.

Nope, you don't. I have all three region 3DS's, live in Europe, and I use the same charger for all three.

It's not just young people that play videogames! 😄 Check out my gaming blog at www.ladiesgamers.com.

I think you can change the language. but you cant play other region games. your adapter at uk should work fine. if you want to buy console in japan you should go for vita and ps4. region free and very cheap. for nintendo you can buy accessories only.

Nintendo fan.
Owned: NES, Megadrive, SNES, PS1, Dreamcast, PS2, DS, 3DS, and PC. Planned to buy: redesigned Wii U, New 3DS and maybe redesigned XBONE/PS4
