It would probably be a good idea to include a game, since just playing your old DS titles won't show off the 3D to people. Pilotwings is probably the only game that would have appeal to everyone, but maybe they'll do something like the DSi where they'll give you 1000 points to download 3DSWare. That way they motivate people to figure out how to use the store, give people game options, and don't have to include a major title.

I agree with this statement too.

If there would be any bundle at all, I'd expect it to be a Pilotwings, or Mario Kart one They're both games that would easily appeal to a wide range of people.

I would be a bit miffed if each colour 3DS came with a specific game for their colour. But back on topic, as predicted, Pilotwings Resort will more likely be the bundled game, or, if we're lucky, Mario Kart or Paper Mario. There may even be no bundled games as for pre-installed software - if this happens I mean.

Really? Over here in the States (of Australia) the DS lite came with a demo of Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training at launch. But there is a pattern of handheld launch bundles or offers of every description:

Nintendo DS (or DS Nitro, if you prefer): Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt, a tech-demo to demonstrate the new features included with what was at the time the handheld to get
Nintendo DS lite: a demo version of Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old is Your Brain?, though this bundle was apparently Europe- and Oceania-only.
Nintendo DSi: an incentive to get your DSi system online with 1000 complimentary Nintendo DSi Points, provided courtesy of Nintendo upon your first visit to the Nintendo DSi Shop.
Nintendo DSi XL: Five included Nintendo DSiWare titles built-in to the system - though Flipnote Studio and Internet Browser are built-in to every DSi system, so it's really only three unique to the DSi XL system - valued at a total of 1500 Nintendo DSi Points. Titles over here include Photo Clock, Clubhouse Games Express: Card Classics and A Little Bit of Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training Arts Edition: How Bad are Your Art Skills? (Quite a mouthful, huh?)

Based on this pattern of Tech Demo, Game Demo, Nintendo Points, brand-new Downloadable 'Software' etc., my guess boils down to a total of five options:

Option 1: The Nintendo 3DS will come with (at the very least an option to redeem) bonus Game Boy games to demonstrate Virtual Handheld or whatever they're calling it...I know, I know, I'm now starting to wish this to happen more often than I go on about wanting to play Super Mario Land 2 again (oh, to frolic through Hippo Land with a pair of rabbit-ears again!), but it's bound to happen!
Option 2: The 3DS will come with a collection of tech-demos and videos, with such demonstrations as a 3D-Depth demo, a motion-control demo, a multiplayer demo etc., or a universally-appealing casual game such as Wii Sports (3DS Sports?) or Wii Play (3DS Play?)...perhaps even Pilotwings Resort.
Option 3: The 3DS will be the first Nintendo handheld since the original Game Boy to include a full game at launch. It'd be funny if it was some version of Tetris...just like its great-grandfather! [offtopic] I did the figuring-out by the way, and the Game Boy is indeed the 3DS' great-grandfather, so let me know if you'd like a family tree or something! [/offtopic]
Option 4: The 3DS will have PUPPIES! Or KITTENS! Or BOTH!
Option 5: The 3DS will not have any pack-in or via-redemption titles, and you'll be all on your own once you cough-up the cost for the console...which should hopefully be no higher in price than the Wii.

That's my $300AUD on this topic!

PILOTWINGS is a huge Possibility because of wii sports resort and the fact Pilotwings was a launch for SNES and N64 that or steel driver since its been announced since B4 the DS Phat.

I think that they will either give a tech demo or give some points. I couldn't see them giving away a game like Mario Kart or Kid Icarus for free (they bring in $$$$$$)

I would love points (only if there was a 3DS VH or something. I don't really like DSiWare all that much, and I don't imagine 3DSWare being much different) to spend on some GB/A games.

If they can get Mario Kart done in time for launch it'd be a great game to bundle with the system but since people will buy it on its own I just can't see Nintendo making a Mario Kart bundle (not for the first 6 months or so anyway). Pilotwings is a good idea for one bundle and for the other maybe pack in one of the Nintendogs + Cats games.

Probally going to be some type of game showing off what the 3ds can do. just like what wii sports is doing for the wii.

I wouldn't put it passed them to do another 'Metroid Prime Hunters' DEMO type thing where it is a demo but feels enough of a complete set of a couple mini games so you can get a real taste. I just don't see them doing a 'Wii' because they have never been hurting as far as handheld sales go, because when you think portable gaming most still think 'Gameboy' or for those like under 12 'DS' as it's just in the culture now so it'll move.

No, it wouldn't. It's been done several times with the DS, with special edition DSi's with Kingdom Hearts coming with it (in Japan).

They also had a bundle in the US with Guitar Hero: On Tour and a DS Lite with the Guitar Hero logo on it.

I guess this is where that 3DSPlay trademark will come in handy.

But if it was a full game, it would be one of those 3D remakes (Zelda: OoT or Star Fox 64).

I think if you had Mario kart bundled with the 3DS Nintendo would bring a lot of fans also.

Also I agree with Destroyer360, I would be so angry if Nintendo bundled the metal gear solid with black and Mario Kart with red! Plus I'm a girl, I surly would not care for Metal Gear Solid! I want black also but not metal gear solid with the 3DS. Heres how Nintendo should do it, Mario Kart-Metal Gear Solid-Paper Mario-PilotWings Resort- Zelda Ocarina of Time-Kid Icarus and Animal Crossing should be bundled in all different colors so you can deside which game you want and which color 3DS you would like to buy, so everyone will be happy.

hey now, there's plenty of us chicks out here who would consider MGS bundled in with a black 3DS to be pretty freakin' awesome. Just because you're a girl doesn't mean you wouldn't like it. Have you even given the series a try? Or are you just dismissing it based on gender stereotypes?

If you ask me (and I'm a guy) there should be more games where the main character is a girl. There's already Metroid, but in most action games the hero is a guy.

I think the winner for having the most awesome games bundled with a system is the GameCube.
Mario Kart Double Dash, Zelda Master Quest and Collectors edition, Pokemon XD, Mario Party 7, Pokemon Coliseum, Super Smash Brothers, Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Resident Evil 4, The GameBoy player, and Metroid Prime all had Gamecube bundles with different pictures on the top of it.

Da I have a PSP I've played metal gear before. I don't like any of the games. I will tell you what fighting games I do like, All Star Wars Battle Fronts, Call of Duty and Ghost Recon.

Plus girls are suppose to play games that are suitable for females not violent games. I'm steering away from shot'em up games its just not for us, shot'em up games are for boys.
