Nintendo of America just tweeted this:

"We are excited to surprise you with hands-on of #SmashBros for #3DS. Here’s how you can enter for a chance to play!"

This is weird... Is it like a permanent demo? Can we cheat the system by using fake pics? Will many people get chosen? This just seems like a really, really weird thing to do... Discuss!

Rewarding people in the US who go to Comic Con, take a selfie and post it to Twitter, by giving them a chance to play a game early.
Seems like a fair way to distribute a demo of an upcoming game. This will certainty drive sales!

More than likely they will read the location data from the selfie, and send out the demo that way. In order to stop the cheating of the system.

Well, that makes more sense, but then why would they need to send you a direct message? It seems like they would send you a download code or something.

They send you a message so you don't move and the person will have proof would be my guess.

Okay, yeah, I guess that makes sense. Being able to download a demo would have been awesome though.
