Just a note, this game is getting it's third(!!!) demo in Japan soon, and the full game is scheduled to come out in Japan in October. We'll probably here more about a western release date some time in the spring.
@Mickeymac From what I hear, it seems like those multiple demos should have just been put into one demo instead as they're just scattered bits and pieces of the game.
One just lets you run around I believe... doesn't sound like a very exciting demo.
I think the newest one should actually be combat though, from what I've heard.
Yes, the newest one does have combat. And as weird as it sounds, they're doing those as a sort of Beta test, to get people to help them with the game. After the first demo, they had to fix things, which they showed in the second demo. If there's problems in the next demo, I doubt it'll be the last one we see.
Also, all these demoes keep the hype up, believe it or not, which a new IP like this could really use.
There's finally some battle footage on YouTube. Looks kind of fun. I don't like how the characters don't face the monsters they're targetting though. Looks funky. You also have normal MP this time around (unlike 4HoL) and you can choose which baddie you want to target. It does look like it has some kind of weird unique gimmick, but it's hard to tell exactly what since everything's in Japanese.
@CouchPotato This thread was dead for almost a month. Sad. I wanted to give it some life! Anyway, the graphical style doesn't appeal to me so much, I think it could be a bit more realistic and mature. Either way, the gameplay is really fun. The combat demo came out not too long ago, but I just played it last week. The idea of storing or giving up turns for a chain-type combat is really interesting. Basically standard is set at 0-0, where your turn is reacted by the enemy turn. You can go from -3 to +3 (at least in the demo, I don't know if you can upgrade later to more turns), so if you take a triple turn (for example, 2 attacks and a heal), the enemy gets to attack multiple times in retaliation. But the enemy team can also store/sacrifice turns as well, so it gets a little complicated with the math sometimes, especially if you take a triple turn, giving up your next 3, and the enemy team at the same time has built up turns, and then unleashes a chain at the same time.
Its a lot more intuitive than it sounds, and makes for really exciting gameplay.

Mother 3 fan. It's an amazing game. 糸井さん、こんな素敵なゲームを作ってくれてありがとう!
Wow, nobody has been talking about this game since July. Well, it just came out in Japan and I got my copy today. My first Day 1 purchase in a long time. If anyone has any questions about it, let me know. This game seems to be quite under the radar.

Still no word if this is going to be released in NA huh?
None at all. It doesn't look like a lot of sites are trying to push it either. I see a lot of promos here though, on TV and online. I'm curious about what the domestic sales will be, but Square-Enix and Nintendo really tried to go the extra mile in promoting this game.

It's only under the radar on major websites where anything that isn't Mario, Halo, or Call of Duty can easily get overlooked. It's the talk of the town on all the sites I got to.
