It's pretty successful in Japan, it's even getting a sequel, so why wouldn't it come to Europe and the US? Square-Enix isn't about to miss out on that kind of profit.
The problem is that Square has proven they can act crazy like that and the game may never see the light of day outside Japan
If they plan a sequel for Japan and focus on that, is an indication that they will never put resources to bring it over, it is not a good sign
I'm sorry, but I have a really hard time seeing this game stay in Japan. It's quality, there's lots of people who want it in the west, there's barely any RPG's of any kind on the 3DS, and next year's release schedual is pretty light as far as I can tell. Why wouldn't SE bring it over to at least the US, where the game would only need to be translated into English?

No they have not. I can't think of anything were a game had a clear chance of success and was missed by Square-Enix. As far as we know, there's nothing stopping it from coming to the US. We just need to be patient.

Professor Layton would like a word with you. Look at the localization times for that series. Professor Layton and The Miracle Mask was a LAUNCH TITLE in Japan! Just because there isn't an announcement for it yet and they're making a sequel so soon, it doesn't mean we're never gonna get it.
I'd bet nothing, because I don't actually bet, that we will get localization confirmation in either A., an upcoming Nintendo Direct, or B.(in a very weird circumstance), at E3 this year.
It is not confirmed if that is the name of that game in North America... Or if it even is coming out i America...
Indeed, the game is not well known, the petition in my sig below only has 610 supporters for example, so chances to come are slim to zero right now
Actually, that more likely means most people realize Square-Enix isn't stupid, and don't need a petition to make them realize there's an audience for it.

Or that online petitions don't work. Because they don't.
Maybe a small company would take notice, but Square-Enix would be rich if they had a dollar for every petition ever submitted to them. As you already stated, they're probably already aware of the demand via their own forums.
They've shipped 300K copies of Bravely Default: Flying Fairy and sales should have surpassed that mark by the end of this month. That's a tremendous achievement for the game. Asano also hints at developments this year, as I doubt they could get BD2 out that soon, I hope it means he's managed to get localisation sorted.

These things take time to be announced for the west sometimes. I can't see why this wouldn't be ported over as they could at the very least do download only if they think its risky! Now I know its not the best option but its better then nothing! It would be an instant dl for me. The 3ds is finally starting to look like the ds in terms of rpgs at the same time in its life cycle!
Oh and yes ill check it out!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

I thought so. Even 2-3 weeks after the game came out, its was still being sold out in most stores I went to. I've not seen a game sell like this (of course, other than games like Animal Crossing or a Mario game, or Monster Hunter) in a long time.
And guys, come on. A game doesn't get localized right away and people turn into some of the most pessimistic crazies everywhere. Just please wait, there's plenty of great games coming out of Japan to the west right now. Bravely Default will have its turn, just not yet. Please enjoy games like Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion 2, Monster Hunter 3G, Demon Training, Etrian Odyssey IV, Soul Hackers, and all the other great games that are coming out while you wait.

Meh, I'm thinking they'll save a Bravely Default announcement for E3 or something like that. If people are getting this hyped over it, then why not make it a big deal?
Also, I just found out this is being worked on by 3D Dot Game Heroes' developer. Personal hype just skyrocketed.
