I have been trying to add friends for Bravely Default. I submitted my friend number on one of the exchange threads, got one response only. We exchanged friend codes successfully from the 3DS main menu (that persons Mii shows up on my friends list, so I am assuming the exchange was successful). This friend was added yesterday and late today I did Update and "Add Friends" while talking with the Adventurer (yes, the wireless connection was on) and it said there were no friends to add, I did get 3 more guests and 2 or 3 nemeses, though.
What am I missing? I've looked at many forums and tried what they say (which is pretty much what I have tried above) but I am getting no results. Can anyone help. I would also like to pick up a few more friends than just one, too.
When I do "Update Data" I get the response (among others): "No friends to update."
When I try "Add friends" I get the response: "There are no friends registered on the system that could be added."
I suppose it could be that the friend I registered already had a full list — could this be the problem?
I assure you, I am not trolling, absolutely not, no way, no how. Now please, please, please — can I get some useful help. This is frustrating me to no end and to be accused of trolling is of no help whatsoever.
Thank-you for your reply. The instructions at this link are exactly what I have tried, but to no avail. I think I will try some other friend threads — it may be that friend list for the one I have signed up with is full — I understand there is a 20 friend limit for BD.

I was actually talking about the guy you gave friend code to...
No she (at least that is how it appears) was not trolling. In the post just above mine, she had added several friends and then invited me to join after I posted my FC. The code exchange did indeed work because her Mii is now on the general friends list. Maybe she was trolling for all the other folks, too, but I don't think so.
Er, no. Indeed I'm not trolling. Simply a newbie to the forums.
When I upgraded my 3DS I unfortuntely lost the friend codes I -did- have when the older device was reset. Why I am on the search for others. Inputted a varied amount of hopefuls in case there were some responses. So far, Fufuhubu is the only one who exchanged.
I was unaware there -was- a limit to how many codes could be added on the 3DS. I appreciate the information.
Btw, narrowed the hopeful friend list to 5 with Fufuhubu being the sucsessful response.

Thanks, Jennas, for the response. I just tried adding again but am still unsuccessful. Have you been able to add me as a friend inside BD? I also see that you are currently playing. I really don't know what is going on here.
Sorry to hear there's a mixup. As for the adding you,...yes. Yes, have been able to add you in game.
If you've seen the merchants dressed in red go to one. (The one that gives the option of saving the game while within cities, dungeons, whatever). When close enough "talk" to him. A screen will open up on the top. Click "Save" on the menu that appears. Go to "Update Data". That will send your registered 3DS net friends who play BD an invite in game. The system will allow you to do so once per day.
Go scroll down one and click the "A" button on highlighting "Add Friends" every so often. You'll have the option of choosing whether the friend who was added was "Local" (Streetpass? Never tried it) or "Internet". Any of the those who have responded and accepted your friend code on the 3DS and are also playing BD should then be registered in game. In fact, under the "Friends" menu in "Tactics" on my system your currently listed as Tiz garbed as a monk. (The system changes the jobs on the characters periodically. I -think- the more jobs you aquire...the more are available to aid friends in battle.)

I see that you have, indeed, been successful in adding me as a friend — but my attempts still have not succeeded
I have done hat you describe (several times) and have not been successful. I am not sure if the requested friends have to be actively playing BD or not but I believe I did try while you were playing during the last post I made. Let's try this — if you plan to pull out your game sometime this evening hopefully between six and seven PST (or some other evening in the near future) let me know. I will try to add you then.
I have talked with Nintendo Support and they seem to be stumped by this, too. I am suspecting that either my console or cartridge is not working correctly. If this is the case I will be getting new units. If this happens, we will have to exchange friend codes again since mine will change. Please stay posted and keep track of what happens.
As far as I'm ware individuals do not exactly need to be be playing at the same time on BP. (Whereas in a game such as Animal Crossing: New Leaf one would if there's actual interaction, visitors visiting between two towns, ect.)
The time you suggested should be okay. Should I not be for some reason I'll leave the game on within sleep mode while online. If you're able to send an invite I certainly should recieve it and respond.
Is this the only game you're having problem's with on the system or are there others?

I just attempted Add Friends and still no joy. I am going to exchange so I will be deleting you from the console for now and we can re-establish the link when I get my new friend code. Please stand by and thanks for your patience.
Right now Bravely Default is the only game I own for the 3DS.

I have my new setup. Friend Code is 4055-5539-7366. Mii's name is Ludwig (yeah, I'm probably profaning Mr. Beethoven's name but that's just the way it is.)
Was able to add just fine with Lugwig instantly appearing as online. Let me know if the ingame "add friends" helps.

You are now on my 3DS friends list. Still have not had success with adding you as a friend for BD. It may be that the friend exchange has to be completed before invitations are sent out. I will have to wait until tomorrow because, it appears, that I sent the last invitation out just barely after midnight.
