All right I want this game (hope to get it in October) so tell me about its epicness. Also is this a good starting place in the BIT TRIP series or is Complete better?

I'd say this is a better starting place because the extras in COMPLETE are really only for die-hard fans and the new controls, better graphics/3D, and portability only serve to maker the games more accessible to newcomers. If you only plan on ever getting one I'd say COMPLETE but if you can eventually spare the cash for both go with this one.
@TBD How are you liking it?

@Oddy: i've played a little bit of BEAT and CORE so far, and i've been noticing some framerate issues with the 3D enabled — especially if the 3D is turned all the way up. it's a bit disappointing, especially because it's gorgeous otherwise... as if the background wasn't distracting enough >:3
definitely not liking that i can't just turn the controller to the side for those challenge bits in CORE, aargh! though that's just me having gotten used to being a dirty cheater D: D: D: gotta learn how to get through those all legit now i guess. :3 and i definitely agree with whoever said the circle pad is crap, though, haha (probably you :3)
i'll play through some RUNNER when i get home, probably FATE too (been dying to replay that one lately for some reason).

I've been wanting to go back to FATE too, and plan on doing so tonight. I find that SAGA is changing up my ranking of all the games, and I'm sorta hoping FATE goes from being my least favorite to my favorite.
I really haven't noticed those frame rate issues yet--it's possible I just don't remember how smooth they're supposed to run--and in fact I turned on the 3D in Discovery to help me see the yellow beats over the light green background. I also haven't noticed a difference in the graphics/frame rate whether the 3D is really low or really high.
Yeah I just miss that stupid BEAT in CORE to save myself the pain of NETHERing.

RUNNER is where it's the most prevalent, especially in World 3. You'll notice it when you see it. And it doesn't matter how MUCH you have 3D on, it's either ON or it's OFF. Varying the degree of 3D doesn't effect the framerate, but it will effect how much you notice it.

That's funny, to me the depth doesn't seem to change once the slider's on (no change in 3D intensity), but apparently there must be some slight difference if it affects how much one notices the frame rate drop in World 3.

I love this compilation of awesomeness (which is SAGA). Since the only Bit. Trip games I have played before buying Saga was Beat, this was a steal for me. So far I have played Beat, Core, Void, and Runner. I love Beat, but still suck at it. Using the Circle Pad in that game is awful, so the touch screen controls are the best way to play Beat.
I suck even worse at Core, but the controls work just fine. I love playing Void and the controls work really well. Runner is my favorite so far though. There are framerate issues in Runner staring from the latter half of the first world even with the 3D off. But Runner is so much effing fun that it does not concern me that much.

Come to think of it there were a few jumps I kept missing in Impetus so I turned the 3D off. Those couldst (3DS Internet Browser says that's a word) have been frame rate issues.

I've been busy all weekend, so I'm going to call my local 2 Gamestops tomorrow and if any of them have it which they better do then that's the Gamestop I'll go to to buy it and Kirby Mass Attack.

@Oddy: i noticed hella slowdown in Impetus (i think it's 1-9), 3D off and all. it's really making it impossible for me to collect all the gold bars :/ I can whiz through Runner (except for the last three levels, lol those take more time) on WiiWare, but Saga's quirks are taking some getting used to D:
when it's at full speed, though, it's amazing! :3

Yeah what's going on with the damn game? No one is carrying the 3DS version at all, haven't bothered looking up the Wii one but guessing it's just as bad. Aksys games? AckSucks as a distributor obviously.

@tanookisuit: you can purchase both SAGA and COMPLETE from Aksys' game store — if you purchase SAGA through them, in fact, you get some stickers and the promo CD that GS was only doing as a preorder bonus. i want those stickers D: D: D:
also, with the circle pad as oversensitive as it is, it sucks for BEAT and FLUX, but it's perfect for VOID IMO. i think i'm starting to get the hang of this

I finally got one at my local Gamestop. I like RUNNER the most. But man, BEAT and FLUX are kicking my butt. D:

Got one last night from my local Gamestop, and the slowdown is definitely noticeable during RUNNER. Otherwise it's fairly awesome.
Note to people looking for copies: If you go to Gamestop's website and got to the product page for SAGA, there should be an icon that says "Pick Up @ Store." If you enter whether you want the game new or used and your ZIP code, you should get a fairly accurate list of which games have SAGA (or COMPLETE, or any other game for that matter) in your area. Hope that helps!

Thanks @theblackdragon. I ordered Saga from Aksys to get the extras. They only ship to the US, but my dad lives there, and I was able to use my credit card by paying as a guest on paypal instead of using my actual paypal account with my Canadian address. I was worried visa wouldn't accept my dad's shipping address, because there's no separate billing address for paypal, but somehow it all worked fine, and Aksys shipped right away.
