@theLilK98 alright! Someone who's greatly anticipating what team Aonuma cookin up for 3DS!

I'm hoping for Circle Pad Pro support mainly. Since I haven't played Wind Waker, I've never experienced Zelda with actual full camera control.

Also, I hope they keep the OOT3D controls, and never go back to that horrendously conspicuously forced control scheme from PH/ST.

If they made DKCR3D, why not LoZ:TP3D?

I really liked PH and ST but I'm hoping for something along the lines of OoT 3D[visually]. Miyamoto's idea sounds best; a 3D sequel(if you'd call it that) to ALttP(same overall Hyrule that was in the SNES Zelda and re-introduce the light and dark worlds).

While cel-shaded graphics would look good in 3D, I feel like it has been overused.
I would much prefer Skyward Sword's graphic style, Do you think that would be possible on the 3DS's hardware?

I do think it would Be possible, yes. However with 3D and the screen resolution it it may have a different look. You never know, perhaps some of that style will survive in this next game in an optimized format and I wouldn't be surprised at all after they put DKCR in the system.

I will say my expectations are not as high as they would be for a 3D console Zelda title, since both the handheld and 2D Zeldas peaked with Link's Awakening.

For me they peaked with minish cap. I'd be really surprised if this is gonna be 2D. I'm disinclined after they put OOT on it. It would feel like a step down to me.

Whether it's for Wii U or 3DS, I expect innovation from the new generations of Zelda instead of the same old the stale formula. I'm also sick of Ganon being the antogonist even if Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword are the exceptions to this complaint.

No more of the "Go to three elemental dungeons before venturing to the six important temples" formula. Spice it up. Let's see some creative story telling and innovative pacing.

A mature toned Zelda in the same vein as Twilight Princess. Excluding series stapled items in return for new ones. No more helpers to aid, handhold and explain (Navi, fairies, Midna and ****ing FI!).

I actually expect a lot of that in the 3DS version. I know Aonuma wanted to change some things for skyward and even though it wasn't as much as he wanted I think the handheld version would be much easier to implement more of that change for the series. Hopefully they've then been able to do that.

Aonuma also said that this would be a game in which the 3D would mean something. I've thought about what aspects of the game he might be talking about. Puzzles and bosses come to mind and more so the bosses. I think we could see some cool looking boss challenges that are greatly aided by the depth that 3D enables.

I'm excited for the overworld. Minish cap is my favorite of the handheld games. One of the changes Aonuma talked about for Skyward was how we traverse areas preceding the dungeon. He wanted to extend some of the dungeon experience into these areas. Capcom actually did that very thing and quite well with Minish Cap. They had the fields around Hyrule town to explore and get rupees and bash on baddies like always but then the outward areas before the temple changed it up with some puzzles and a theme to warm you up before getting to the Dungeon. Castor Wilds and the ruins are an excellent example of this. I hope they can make a hyrule like that again in 3D oh and bring back Roc's Cape!

Who knows what the story might do and where in the timeline it will sit as well as what the visuals will look like. I would like something that's between Skyward and wind waker if such a thin line could be worked within lol, but I can envision it and it would look fantastic for the 3DS

I don't think anyone wants another Toon Link cel shaded art styled Legend of Zelda.

I do...

I'd love to see the art from the the links awakening or Oracle games come to life in 3d.

The OOT remake was the first Zelda I really loved since Wind Waker. It really shows what is possible with the 3DS, but I don't expect the next 3DS game to be that big in scope. So far there has been NO games as impressive as OOT 3D in terms of visuals or scope on 3DS aside from maybe Resident Evil, so to expect that is a little unrealistic. It was a remake afterall. Something along the lines of the previous DS games seems likely. I personally would rather them take their time and make 1 great 3DS Zelda (and A Link to the Past 3D!), than a bunch of so-so releases like the DS games, and almost all of Nintendo's games so far for 3DS.

I dunno, I feel like toon link has some fans out there. I know a potion of the female fan base really like toon Link that's for sure (I personally know more girl Zelda fans than guys) Also toon link is iconic now for the franchise. His design has been on more game box art than any link and has been used in general promo visuals more than any other Link. So I don't think he's a thing of the past:)

I honestly think the new Zelda 3DS game is going to be in the Wind Waker art style, as that's the easiest to do on the hardware and in my opinion would give the best looking final product. For anyone who dislikes motion controls this would be the game for them, incorporating mostly the same kind of controls as Ocarina of Time 3D.

I would really love a remake of Majora's Mask, but I don't think the 3DS is the right platform for it. With portable games, it's harder to sit down for a couple of hours and just play because you're on the go and more likely to be interrupted. Majora's Mask required those kind of console-length play sessions because of the three days time limit. You don't want to be halfway through a dungeon and run out of batteries. Then again, save points actually help in this case rather than menu-saving or auto-saving.

Technically speaking, any Zelda game released thus far is playable on the 3DS hardware, because it's actually better than Wii hardware. I don't think they'll port Wind Waker or Skyward Sword, but Twilight Princess is a cool possibility. I would kind of miss the motion controls for the sword, but they could use the gyroscope or touch screen in interesting ways for the items.

For a Majora's Mask remake, I'd be damned if (assuming one was made) they didn't do what they did with Star Fox 64 3D and at the very least add another, easier difficulty level. Considering OOT3D included Master Quest I'd be baffled if they left it barebones or simply added a boss rush.

A Zelda game that isn't puzzle-fest.
Last time I check Link has a sword, I hope to see new things with it, and not reuse the same sword style gameplay since OoT.
I would like to see a Zelda game, where Link uses all the weapons he has in battle, like quick bomb throws, or a sword and hammer combo. He must have a reason to carry all those items around, not just to use them for puzzles.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

I agree. I'm glad there's someone in this thread that realizes Zelda needs change.
