This is some pretty horrendous execution on Best Buy's part. Today's sale was a straight bummer.

Games I'm playing: Hotline Miami 2, Smash Wii U, GTA V, Dying Light, Resogun

Recently completed games: Hotline Miami, P.T., Shovel Knight

Games I want soon: Zelda U, The Witcher 3, Axiom Verge, Everyone's Gone to the Rapture

Kind of disappointed that Luigi's Mansion isn't on the list, but I'll deal...

I don't have Zelda, Bravely, or Tomodachi yet, and I'm debating which of the 3 I should get. I'll definitely get ALBW, but for the freebie I'm not sure whether to get Tomodachi Life or Bravely Default. Tomodachi seems like it'd be just crazy fun and strange, but Bravely also seems like a great game,, though I'm honestly not looking for an RPG right now... I suppose I could always save it for later or selling it for a profit later in like 10 years.

Tomodachi Life is sold out at every BestBuy within around 100 miles from me.

You should still be able to get it online.
FYI Tomodachi life's trade in value is over $30 at Target right now which is why is sold out so fast.

I already ordered it from their site.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

So Target will price match the deal, but be sure to bring in a printout of the online promotion page with the prices and, just in case, a copy of their price match policies. They won't price match a buy one get one deal unless they can verify the exact items and prices. The clerk had not done a price match like this before, so he had to get a manager, but it all worked out for me. As always, be patient and polite.

The website is saying BD and ALBTW aren't available anywhere near me. I'm going to go check out my Best Buy anyway.

IIRC, the BB site shows a status of unavailable when inventory reaches 3 or less.

Well at the same time, there are "restrictions". This means they won't price match everything

I'm pretty sure I won't be taking advantage of this deal this time, despite only having ALBW.

"But there's never going to be a better deal than this!"

Oh, I'm pretty sure there will be. I guarantee you games like Yoshi's New Island will be $15 on Black Friday. I can hold out on this selection of games.

I was able to get them to honor the deal (at least the 3DS BOGO) because price and selection were verifiable online. But YMMV.

I called my local Target and they said that they don't price match BOGO. I'm really not happy with how Best Buy handled this sale. I'm disgusted, actually. They knew very well that they had barely any stock of pretty much every game on the list. That wouldn't be so terrible if I could just order them online, but the game I want isn't available for online order (Kirby: TD).

3DS (Playing): Bravely Default, Conception II, DKCR, SMT:IV
3DS Wishlist: Kirby TD, Smash, Pokemon AS, Fantasy Life, Persona Q, Etrian Odyssey Untold
Wii U (Playing): Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker HD, Monster Hunter 3U, DKCTF, Zombi U, Shovel Knight
Wii U Wishlist: Bayonetta 2, Hy...

To be fair, they did say "while supplies last"

@SleepyCrossing: Have you tried Walmart? Their Ad Match Guarantee (http://corporate.walmart.com/ad-match-guarantee) seems as if it would apply to the Best Buy promotion.

I went to Target, Walmart, and Toys R Us and spoke to Managers at all of them but none would give me the same deal as Best Buy

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@DefHalen You march right down to Target with a copy of their ad match policy and this page here. http://deals.bestbuy.com/#!/video+games

It fits within their policy and the prices can be verified.

EDIT: Here's a copy of Target's price match policy.

If you read their exclusions, you can see why they may not except the price match for this sale. You could always try a different Target if you have one near by.

They were probably trying to get rid of the remaining stock, and it looks like they did.

I tried my Target and Wamart... both said the exact same thing, word for word. "We simply don't do Buy one Get one."

Dude, I can't thank you enough for that. I went down to my Target with the deal printed off and the price match policy in hand just in case, and they price matched with absolutely no problem. I'm now the proud owner of Bravely Default and Mario Golf. Suck it, Best Buy!

And that's when you go to Corporate. Did you show them their price match policy?

@Prof_Clayton: I'd show Walmart the Ad Match Guarantee.

Ad Match Guarantee wrote:

We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:**

*Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price
Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)

Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified price

Preferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed ad

For fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
