As MAYOR, I will Chop Down all the Trees in Every Town I go to.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
That would all be AWESOME. They'd probably have limits, though. So no surrounding a house in campfires or trapping some poor animal in a box of benches.
wow if you could have multiple people living in the town via 3g, I could trap all my friends
You were pretty much already running your town anyway. Now they're just giving it a title. Without you, the entire town would rot, weeds would over-run everything, people would get pissed off at eachother and move away...you're the backbone of the town. The Mayor sits in the Post Office and sleeps. I'm not particularly impressed by this, to be honest.

That does indeed sound astounding! Although there may be a downside to that considering... let's just hope this doesn't tamper with the original gameplay feel of Animal Crossing.

On that, you do have a point. It'd just be a glorified position, with a plaque on your desk. But then again, this is a new game. It may have new benefits.

That's the game! You sit in the Post Office sleeping, while some weird human nut does stuff around town.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

Now this I can get into!
You know what might be fun (but Nintendo would never do because it would involve far too much work) is if they some little court-room drama side-quests. Like the Mayor has to weigh in on judicial matters concerning conflicts between members of your town. A little Phoenix Wright action, if you know what I mean. That would be interesting. I also think it'd be neat if you could lose your title as Mayor. Obviously they couldn't do it every two years, or whatever, but say every three months or so they hold an election. You get to create campaign posters, suck up to the townspeople, make your opponent look bad, whatever. They could even throw in some Little King's Story action and give you the choice of being dictatorial or kind. Just spit-ballin' here.

Everything Kid_A suggested is awesome. I feel like if the courtroom thing were to happen, the animals would argue over incredibly stupid things, though, which would be hilarious.

Idea : Prior to becoming a mayor, I think Ninty should add more jobs than just delivering. For instance, You can jam with K.K. Slider every Saturday at The Roost and earn money to pay your home loan from Tom Nook. Animal Crossing is in need of variety.

This is something that bothered me. It was pretty annoying to go away from the game for a week or two and have your entire town pretty much collapse. Hopefully being mayor means your villagers can be a bit more self-sufficient when you're not around.. Just being able to hire someone to pick the weeds every now and again would be a huge help.
I'd also love to be able to design the town a bit more and choose where a lot of the buildings will go. Would save having to constantly restart the game until you get a layout that you're happy with.
lol I question why people do this... Do you not have a Google Tool Bar on your browser... Or are to lazy to search it and click the first link that appears due to it's legitimacy?
Back on topic, I'm looking forward to this... Sucks that Tortimer may not make it in, unless he 'visits' or something. And I wonder who this secretary referenced is. Probably an incarnation or something of Tortimer... Tortina? Well, if this secretary/assistant is a turtle, I'll be happy

Samehere! I like Tortimer a lot also!

Hopefully you can also edit outside by putting benches or camfires outside
That would be spectacular. I'd love to be able to build fires and construct benches. Hopefully, this time around there will be either trains or boats as Animal Crossing: Wild World had a taxi cab ride with "Cap'N" and Animal Crossing: City Folk had a school bus.
Actually, we've already had trains and boats too.
In the first Animal Crossing for the Gamecube, the player used a train to arrive in town. There was also a row boat in the first game too. The Captain had a row boat and you could use it to go to an Island (if you had a GBA and cable to connect it to the Gamecube).
I'd like to see the character arrive in a plane for the new one. That would be cool. Not sure if Nintendo would do that though. But they have already done trains, a cab, a bus, and a boat (to go to an Island). So a plane might be the next step.
I like that the player is going to be the mayor in the new one. Of course, like other people have said, you run the town anyway, so why not! But hopefully Nintendo will put a lot of new features into the game that have to do with you being the mayor.
I also like the new graphics and taller characters! It would be nice if Nintendo adds in the ablity to use the 3DS camera to help with pattern making and use the mic for voice chat.
I can't wait to play this game. I'm hoping that Nintendo reveals the game at E3 this year!

How about we add a Professor Layton twist to this? As you walk around your town, random animals will come up to you and request you solve a puzzle. Obviously, you run out of puzzles after a while, so eventually the game will eventually start re-using the old ones.
