Topic: Be prepared for a ton load of PSP ports

I can tell you that within the first 2 years of the 3DS' life, there will be a crap load of PSP ports with enhanced 3D effects.

I find that this will be a good thing and a bad thing:
Pros: A lot of PSP games are good and will benefit from a wider audience than PSP ever had.
The best titles will greatly benefit with touch screen and 3D effects.

Cons: If any of the ported games from PSP become at all successful, it might be the only thing we see in-between a new game.

Of course I don't have any proof of this but given some of the announced games to release in the future it just makes sense. Sega is already going to release a port of a PSP title, Crush, now called "Crush 3D". Thats already a sign of things to come.

I'm really hoping that Square-enix ports a lot of their PSP games. Their games are some of the best for the PSP; Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, Dissidia, etc. The new Parasite Eve: Third Birthday would be a good port for 3DS since its a recent title from Square-enix.

Another title porting to 3DS: Tales of the Abyss. I know it was originally a PS2 title but that could become another surge of ports in the future: PS2 games such as Dragon Quest VIII would be an amazing game to release for the 3DS!

I think they will benefit from the new analog nub. The PSP thumb stick felt weird sometimes. Another benefit would be shooting games from the PSP that used the face buttons to aim. The only thing the developers really would have to do is adapt it to the touch screen.

I was actually playing Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles on PSP yesterday and thinking it would be good in 3D. If you're right it could be a good thing, in some cases.

I don't want anything from the PSP to move to the 3DS, because I am mean.

Especially not something like the 3rd Birthday, Aya should stay on a Sony console. >:[

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I am posting a pic of Aya Brea for those who have no idea who she is:

Who wouldn't want to play as her on a new 3DS?

If both Dragon Quest VII and VIII were remade on the 3ds, Dragon Quest I-III"s Game boy color remakes made it to Virtual Console, and Dragon Quest X was released on 3ds instead of wii, we would be able to play the entire series on the 3ds! Now that would be epic.

This is a signature.

Could be a good chance to pick up some of those PSP gems. But keep the crappy games back on the PSP. Keep the crappy games on their crappy system.

We may have lost Final Fantasy, but that doesn't mean we have to give up Parasite Eve too! D:

I haven't been on the forums for awhile and have assumed there is topics similar to this. I only posted this topic to make a point that if Nintendo's handhelds had the same graphics quality as the PSP a few years ago, a lot of those PSP titles would have been likely just been on Nintendo's side. Obviously the better hardware, the better games are made for those systems. I know that a lot people would argue that gameplay is greater than graphics, but I think a balance of great gameplay and great graphics is better.

I have always been a huge Nintendo fan but over the years I find that a lot of the other companies are roping in the developers to make games for their product. Nintendo has finally introduced an awesome handheld that I believe will even out do the Sony's NGP. I think Nintendo has something good going on here. I can't wait for the 3DS to release in the US next month!
