@shingi_70 You may get tired of hearing it, but that doesn't make it any less true. You completely missed the point. Since the mid-late 80s, Batman's portrayal has been decidely dark and gritty. I find it odd that you bring up both Miller and Morrison's work with the character and Bat-verse, which have been some of the darkest and "mature" stuff of all.
Of course Batman can work — and has worked — in any number of types of portrayals. That's why (as i said in my last post) there are things like The Brave and the Bold cartoon and game, and some of the other recent animated series. Arkham wasn't trying for that — they went for the more serious, gritty and dark portrayal that has been the norm and the standard for Batman and the Bat-verse for decades, and that really is one of the main reasons why it was such a well-received game.
The only Part of Morrrison's Saga I found dark was the Hush stuff. His work on Batman and Robin/Batman inc had been a more lighthearted deal with a lot of silver age kookiness.
Miller I really Can't agrue as he Gets the Darker Griitter Batman (just read Batman :Year one for the first time Last month) That being said im not really that big of a Fan of the DKNR/ASBAR.
Also Have you read anything from the new 52 yet?
WAT!

@shingi_70 True, Morrison did start to get into that silver-age-ish vibe (though more in and "acid-trip" kind of way as is Morrison's style, rather than purely light-hearted classic fashion) while we had Grayson-Batman, but pretty much everything that led up to that (up through Batman R.I.P.) was some twisted twisted stuff.
I haven't checked out any of the new 52 yet (heh, and even if i wanted to, all the titles have been selling out like mad!), though i am curious about some stuff. I do want to pick up the new Batwoman series (finally, they're releasing it after delaying it for nearly a year), but i'm not too keen on getting all invested in yet another DC quasi-reboot (not to mention i'm more of a Marvel fan anyways). The only thing i can really say thus far is that i hate the new look for Harley Quinn (in the new Suicide Squad, i think?)
I will definitely agree though that Brave and the Bold was a great series, and good all-ages fun. Plus, i always love team-ups that involve more obscure characters.

Batwoman was maybe my most excited book. Elegy made her my favorite DC character and hearing of her getting her own series was icing on the cake. J.H. Williams Pencils and Breakdowns were Gorgeous. He does a great Job writing and its only bogged down by being the first act in the story. Can't wait till next arc when Amy Reader takes over the art.
Harley Quinn hasn't gotten too many changes expect looking like she came off the set of a Insane clown posse video. When you do try them these were the highlights.
Animal Man Swamp Thing Batwoman Action Comics Omac Batman aquaman supergirl static shock demon knights Frankenstein
Also Dick Batman was the greatest thing ever, That gave us Gates of Gotham and The Black Mirror (havent Read yet as I just started reading monthlies)

Right there with you on Batwoman. A great character and the run of Detective with her as the focus was absolutely phenomenal. I may also check out Static; i love the character, but i wasn't as excited for his new book since Dwayne passed away. I'll probably still check it out though.
From what i skimmed of Suicide Squad, Harley did seem like the same basic character; i just don't really like the re-design visually. I prefer the classic-look Harley, and am just kind of annoyed that Gothan City Sirens got dropped (though the series wasn't quite as good once Dini was off the book).
I don't agree on Dick-Batman, but that's just more of a personal preference — the story arcs with him as Bats were good, but i'm just not that keen on anyone but Bruce under the cowl (Terry McGinnis being the sole exception, but that's a whole different kettle of fish).
