Well, I think that Japan will indeed get the Nintendo 3DS first and then the United States in Q1 2011 and then Europe and the PAL regions.

However, I am still praying for Christmas 2010 release, yet, if it does come out in February of 2011 I will still have patience.

seriously, what does nintendo have for the ds this year at all? they don't have ANY good sellers for Christmas this year at all! 3ds is gonna make their sales skyrocket, and so does Christmas, so why not combine the two?

Thats not completely true. The DS still has Mario vs Donkey Kong, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, Golden Sun, Dragon Quest, and Uper Scribblenauts. While it is a milder line-up than usual, I think the DS still has some life in it. Im still praying for a 2010 3DS launch though.

@ Wooton, why don't we all unite and send in a petition to Nintendo asking them to release the Nintendo 3DS this Christmas (December 2010) and see what kind of responce we get from them.

However, I think Nintendo is putting the release date back to 2011 because they're not quite ready to release the Nintendo 3DS and it's software just yet. From the way Satoru Iwata was talking about adding 3D Voice Chat and other features it would seem to me that the 3DS systems shown at E3 2010 were only prototype despite the barcodes on the back.

Hopefully, after seriously thinking about it, it is my hope that Nintendo will push the 3DS back to February if everything isn't ready yet. I'd rather them push things back as opposed to wrecking the program. Still, if SONY releases the rumored PSP-4000 in both the US and Japan, then Nintendo will indeed go ahead with launching the Nintendo 3DS in not only the USA and the UK but in the PAL regions as well.

Not shocking news... It's always been "by the end of Nintendo's fiscal year". Will it be before Christmas? Perhaps. They seem to still be working out how much silicon to put in the 3DS to make it cost the right amount without making it underpowered. It could launch in December, but I would expect such a launch to be extremely limited. Odds are the average gamer won't be seeing a 3DS until at least next Summer regardless of when it launches.

Releasing at Christmas also opens up to other competition. If they pick a lone month, with nothing big coming out, they would get better sales, than competing against Move and Kinetic.

Well, Reggie told us in 2007 that Brawl was coming out on December 3rd... and it ended up coming on March 9th of the next year.

Well, Brawl was delayed. It was supposed to come out on Dec 3rd, and part of me died inside when the Dojo's big news update was a delay. The game was totally worth the wait though.

I hope it to be in january or whenever but after christmas!
