Me, I'm bummed that this design (not the size) was used for the original 3DS. Nice flat screen, matte finish, head phone jack on the far left or right. I don't regret purchasing a 3DS because I really got a lot out of it. And frankly, I'm interested in the XL because with that big screen, I'd be more comfortable drawing in Colors!3D and the upcoming Art Academy. I also don't really take my 3DS every where unless I go out to my sister's house that's 3 hours away. And when I start school, I'll carry my 3DS in my bag like I did with my DSi in high school. So honestly, the size isn't a bother. the iPad is portable and it's larger (though I assume far slimmer than 3DS XL it seems) and people carry that every where. I haven't been excited for a revision in a long time- maybe DSi was the last. Was planning on getting a DSiXL after getting my 3DS but held off. Glad I did. 3DSXL fixes my personal gripes with the original 3DS.
People fail to understand that there are people who likes "bigger" things that are still portable. No point in complaining- don't get it. If you're enjoying your 3DS, like TBD, and see no need to upgrade, then move on along.
Also, those saying there should be second stick:
1. It'd probably cost more
2. It'll be FAR thicker because then it means they have to tack on ZL and ZR buttons
If you want a second stick, buy the inevitable add on and call it day. And don't use the excuse: "But that means it won't be portable".
In this world, you have to learn you can always have it both ways. So, either the XL would be FAR thicker, or, you can have just as is and get an attachment as an option for that "console" feel people have been wanting.. I mean, do people take their "consoles" everywhere these days?
Oooor, how about you get a Vita if you like dual sticks so much
Well... I'm not as upset as I was for the DSi XL because system transfer is now a thing. But the design for the 3DS XL looks to be vastly superior to the 3DS with the side aside. The headphone jack isn't in the middle anymore. The Start/Home/Select buttons are now popping up from a surface like normal buttons would. And above all, they have gotten rid of that god-awful gloss. I'll keep my 3DS because I don't want a bigger one, but I can't help but feel disappointed that this has been released only a year after the 3DS and for less than the launch price. Regardless it still looks nice. I'll only consider buying if my 3DS breaks.

Guess they'll be making a circle pad pro version 2.
Yup. Which I have to say is slightly preferable to me over making it even huger and compromising battery life, etc. to incorporate a second circle pad and extra triggers. But I don't even want to think about what a 3DS XL + a Circle Pad Pro XL would like, lol.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I was like WHAT?!?! I don't even know why I was surprised they did this before.
I admit I was a bit mad, but I'm over it. LOL... I think of it this way, whoever didn't get a 3DS now they have 2 types to choose from. Plain and simple
I'm a launch buyer, and I see no reason to be upset. There's not a single game that won't be playable on my current 3DS, because the new one is technically the same, except it's bigger.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Seeing as I can get my money back I ain't mad. The release date is so soon, the home, select and start are actual buttons now, the stylus is on the right, the batter is a bit longer (not that it was a problem for me before) and matte finish. All while being able to play VC on original resolution mode without having it too hard to see since it makes it pocket watch size. The only thing im mad is there's no white or silver but it's what's on the inside that counts. Gonna day one son!
Nope. The XL is ugly. (What happened nintendo) and the colorz dont look right from what i've seen. If I do get one im going to be waiting fot the black one. And it doesnt come with a AC adapter or cradle.
I hope ot bombs harder than the 3DS did at launch.
Thats exactly my point

I don't think it looks ugly other than that the colours they chose are kind of toyish and not what you expect if they're trying to target older people. I would have expected colours more like what they had for the DSi XL.
