Topic: Any chance we might see (even dumbed down) version of Mario Maker on 3DS?

I rather see a new Maker...or a sequel. Maybe the 3DS could do something like allow others to play on that system, I just feel like the Maker part is better off on the Wii U.

And the sequel should be on the NX. Not 3DS.

If there is a Mario Maker on 3DS, they'll most likely use the same templates as the Wii U version (or possibly omit a template or two so that the Wii U version has at least SOMETHING to differentiate it from the handheld version). MAYBE they'll give us black and white Game Boy templates for Super Mario Lands 1 & 2 (with perhaps an option to play them with their Super Game Boy colourisation).

I want a Mario Player game for 3DS, maybe as a download title. Then on the go we can play people's levels, and it'd encourage 3DS users to get a Wii U so they can make levels like the ones they're playing!

I think that would be the best move Nintendo can make.

It would be nice but not something I see happening, at least anytime soon. Super Mario Maker is one of the few games that can be called a 'System Seller' for the Wii U. While the same can be said about hyrule warriors and how it's getting a 3DS port, remember the game is over a year old now and already gave Nintendo all the grossing it needs.

So in short, it I doubt it would be as soon as 2016. But considering the fact the most likely release date for the next console is late 2016 to 2017 I doubt their would be a good time to release a handheld version this generation. But this is complete speculation and should not be taken seriously.

If they ever did, it would be a day-1 buy for me for sure.
