Animal Crossing: New Leaf without a doubt. The Wii U version of Sonic Lost World is actually a great game if you ever decide to pick that up, but the 3DS version just isn't as great.

I'm curious why you're split because the two are very different games. Sonic Lost World wasn't really that great and Animal Crossing has a much more active community but at the same time it can get repetitive fairly quickly since it requires daily play for progress (but this will depend on the type of person you are). Again, they're two different games. Animal Crossing doesn't really have a story, there's no "ending". It's just play until you get bored and forget about it.

Exactly! Even though Sonic doesn't have the best ratings, personally I'd get it over Animal Crossing. I'm not a fan of Animal Crossing, I find it boring. I prefer platform-style games. But again, it's a matter of what type of games you like. Many people Love Animal Crossing, I'm just not one of them.
