I'm sooooo excited
I have already decided I want Minhotopia to be filled with K-pop logos EVERYWHERE.
Like I'm going to spam the ground with logos~
It's going to be glorious.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
According to the IGN preview of this game, you can run out of things to do in one day due to the real time clock. Is this a normal feature, because it sounds like something you'd see in a Facebook game.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

Well it depends on what exactly you're trying to do.
Like the shop hours are one thing that's normal. And different fish and bugs come out at different times.
I'm not sure what things you'd run out of time to do. I usually just check back in at different times during the day in City Folk so I can do everything.

@Konata Ok that makes sense. As a newcomer to the series that was pretty off putting for me and unfortunately the writer didn't go into detail.
(Welcome to the series ^^.)
But there's nothing like health or anything that would really prohibit you from playing.
I mean somedays you finish all you wanna do faster than other days.

I went to Club Nintendo this morning and did the "Intend to Buy" survey for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Might as well do that since I've had it paid off since end o' April.
@SkywardLink98
The game is pretty much played as "self-paced". You do what you want, when you want. There's usually no limits on deadlines or anything like that. In AC:WW, i just go in and pick my weeds, dig for fossils and sell them, pull wilted flowers, drink coffee from the Roost, look for coconuts to sell, see if anybody is visiting the town, shoot some balloons from the sky, check what the Nookintons and the Able Sisters store has. Stuff like that. Then at night i usually just talk to the animals that are living in my town, write them letters, jam out in my house or watch tv(all this in the game, not in real life, )
So there's always plenty to do. In New Leaf, especially when you first get it, there'll be tons to do and keep you occupied. Like trying to upgrade your living space, catching all the bugs, fish, fossils, paintings, etc, etc, etc. I've already completed my museum with all pieces, except for the paintings(missing like 3 or 4 i think). Took me a loooooong time to get it complete, so yeah, you'll be plenty busy pretty much everyday if you choose to play everyday. Plus with special events that happen throughout the week? Man, you may never play another game for years!!!
My town name will be the same as in AC:WW = Gooftown
@Everyone
I read on the nintendo website that once Shampoodles is open for business, you can import your Mii character as your town mayor character. So who plans on doing this? Or will you stick with what you create when you begin the game?
I personally will have Shampoodles get my Mii character as my town character.
I've found the best way to explain this game is to recommend you think of it like a little virtual world that actually exists... and you log in to participate in this world. You have to believe that even when you are not playing the little towns people will be thinking of you, changing their house, planting flowers, and so on. The shops will stock new things (that the townspeople can go in and buy, at least in Re-tail, the consignment type shop) and the seasons change. The townspeople will miss you if you don't visit for awhile - someone might actually move away and a new villager move in!
When I hop on I usually wonder what is going on with my townsfolk and go visit them and muck around catching bugs and fish (Wild World is all I have) ... and some of the townsfolk do look stupid, but honestly they get to be endearing half the time (you run into some townfolk you just don't like, like the real world.) Conversely, if you really dive in, you can really start caring about some townsfolk. I've got a zebra named Savaanah and a dog named Goldie who have been in my town since I started it yeaaaaars ago and I love them both dearly. We're best friends and they gave me their pictures (a sign of super awesome friendship on their end.) It helps that they have really sweet, happy personalities.
I'm really obsessive about collecting things so this game is amazing for me. Collect all the fish/ bugs/ art/ fossils/ clothes/ furniture/ etc. just is fun for me since I know better than to do that in real life.... don't want to become an hoarder! I also never gave a rip about decorating my town in the past or my house really so I'm super excited to do whatever I want since the updated multiplayer (and dream suite) make visiting other towns much, much more accessible than past games, plus all the town projects add a whole new element.
A 37 year old dude friend of mine is totally stoked about buying it and I'm a 24 chick so it isn't just a 12 year old girl game My town name is a secret because I'm not 100% sold on my idea.
@Gustoff - Not using the Mii-face feature - I don't think the Mii faces fit the aesthetic of the AC games after seeing the feature being used in AC:CF. I find it a bit weird to be honest.
thank you very much for your in-depth, thorough and long analysis of this game, i think i'll give it a try !
for some weird reason i also got interested in the new harvest moon (new beginning) and Rune Factory 4 (never heard of it before, just came across it a few hours ago)
wondering when harvest moon will arrive in europe and if we'll ever see rune factory 4 over here (i keep reading that rune factory is better than harvest moon, even though it's "just" a spin-off) - appearantly it's very similar to Harvest Moon, but with swords, fights and monsters as well - sounds cool!
was never really interested in these kinds of games, but now that i have a 3DS, i will try them out !
hoping rune factory 4 will come to europe!
(Just finished the latest episode of the Nintendo treehouse, I can't believe they are releasing so many of them. I like it though ^^.)
And I had no idea there would be so many different mini games on the island, it's gonna add so much depth to the multiplayer experience x3.
Before playing multiplayer was boring for me because all you could do was run around your town with your friends, but now you can really do planned group activities and I'm excited for that.
(So you guys better add me on 3ds so we can play mini games together x3.)

I just watched the new ep. with my roomie and we're both so excited too about the new events! I've never, ever really cared about multiplayer before and now I'm sooooo stupid excited about it!
It helps both of us don't have any commitments or work when the game gets released so we can both be a slug for a few days and go crazy. I already told him that we'll have to visit each other and do events fairly often once we both unlock the island - plus the more the merrier since you get more of the badges to spend
