Topic: An easy way to fix the 3DS Virtual Console...

Nintendo has a large catalog of VC games already on the Wii, so why don't they put the entire Wii VC on the 3DS eShop? No waiting for random Game Boy releases, we'd have a huge collection of games to download already.

why? there are certain games I've prefer to play on the go, and certain games i'd like to play on the couch in the comfort of my living room. plus, not everyone owns both platforms. i don't see the harm in it.

because that might take away from wii/ wii U sales, console games should stay on consoles, handheld should stay on handheld, to an extent, we still need our exclusives

I'll do you one better: Add all Wii VC games (possible excluding N64) and make all your VC purchases on Wii playable on 3DS! Now THAT would be sweet Seriously though, I feel like this may be in the cards but only after those ambassador NES games are made available to the public. I mean, what are they gonna do? Release ALL those NES games 1 at a time AGAIN!?

I agree. They couldn't really do N64 games, but I hope we eventually get SNES and GBA. It might happen since they're adding NES games.

Not worthless. Look at what Sony is doing with their PSN games, allowing cross-platform play on the PS3 and Vita.

Play the game on the go, then when you get home, play it on the Wii. The connectivity between handhelds and consoles is a great idea, and Nintendo should really capitalize on it.

Exactly. This is what Sony is doing with the PS3 and Vita, true cross-platform play.

It wouldn't take away sales if Nintendo allowed cross-platform play. Buy the VC game once, and play it on either your Wii or 3DS. The just need to link the Wii and 3DS together to allow this to happen, or simply allow the 3DS to connect to the same VC service that the Wii does.

Yeah, for once I agree with you tendoboy. Nintendo's infrastrucutre really should have allowed the Wii Virtual Console to be downloadable on the 3DS. Just like Sony's.

Well some of us would enjoy playing F-ZeroX on the go but sadly that will never happen with Nintendo running things.

I agree too. And if they don't want to do every console, at least do the NES and Turbografx. I don't want to have to wait for Nintendo to slowly release the games that are already on the Wii VC, and when a new game for one of the two consoles is released, release it on both, not just on one of them. Then there's the issue of transferring games. Let's say I have Blazing Lazers on the Wii VC, and it comes out on the 3DS VC. I think Blazing Lazers is a great game, but not good enough to where I have to pay another $6 so I have it on the 3DS. Same thing goes for the other way around. I would love for Nintendo to allow for Wii VC transferring, but knowing them, they won't do it.

How? Even if they didn't allow you to transfer the games over I'm sure there'd be plenty of people who'd happily buy the SNES/NES Zelda/Mario/Metriod/Donkey Kong etc on both. Hell, I'm not at all interested in Super Mario World on the Wii VC because I have it on the SNES (which didn't stop me with Super Mario Kart) however I'd gladly buy it on the 3DS because I'd be much more likely to play it.

However I think the line should probably be drawn at SNES games rather than N64 games like with the Wii. Not because I don't think the 3DS is capable, remember it is doing things almost on par with Wii visuals, but more because I think OoT3D has proven there's a market for high quality N64 ports. Would they make more money between OoT3D and similar games (like Majora's Mask probably) if people could get them on the VC for a fraction of the price? I'm skeptical.

Here's another thing I want Nintendo to fix; allow us to customize buttons for VC games.

The way Game Boy games are set up:
A is A, and B is B

While this makes sense on paper, in reality it is very uncomfortable to play some Game Boy games this way. It's the same problem if you use a Classic Controller with NES games.

Here's how it should be:
A (GB) should be B (3DS), and B (GB) should be Y (3DS)

I have no problem with A as A and B as B. It works.

I just REALLY wish they had used X as START just like they made Y SELECT.

Seriously, there's the (rather large and centric) Touch Screen to enter the VC menu and pressing the 3DSs START button feels just dangerous with old games (like TLoZ:LA) that use it too much (unlike SELECT which I rarely use anyways).

PS1 Classics.

Eesh, last time I visited those there were less games than the GB VC.
