I just bought a new 2ds XL pikachu edition and wanted to transfer my games and data from my original 3ds just to discover that the OG ambassador 3ds with GBA games on it skyrocketed in value last year.
Here’s my question, if I transfer everything will the rarety of it transfer too or will that just result in the 3ds losing it’s value and the new 2ds not gaining any value?

If you want to keep playing the games, then who cares.

If you actually plan to keep the system as a collectible then you may want to keep the games on the original system. After all, it is a one way trip.

Having access to those games would slightly increase the value of the system you transfer to. But keep in mind, that value is only relevant if you plan to sell it. I don't even like selling so-so games. I could never sell something as exculsive as that, thus I would rather have them on my primary 3DS.

Another value factor is the condition of your OG 3DS. Yes it has some value because of those games, but if the system is worn out from heavy play, that value is offset.
