What? Ok, how do you do this? The only thing I see is “Sound Recorder” - yes, I have the New 3DS - if there’s any way to put mp3s on here or listen to music on here, I’m super down for that; I take it everywhere anyway lol

I use my iPod touch for music. Just bought a cheap Mp3 ( Dansrue ) for causal use. Actually I don't like to "lump" everything into 1 device.
Tablet, desktop Mac, for watching show
Phone.....well, for calling and receiving msg ( I don't even use it for FB or forum )
gaming device are for gaming
Amazon fire, for books and comic..

I know it's a hassle, but I like things organize neatly. ┐( ˘_˘ )┌

Am I the only one still listening to music using my 3DS? And should I consider an alternative music player? IDK, I just feel like I'm the only one using my handheld systems as MP3 players. I even do this with my PSP!

I wasn’t even aware you could do that. I just play games (or did) on my 3DS. Since Switch came out, the 3DS has been collecting dust.

I'm with you on buying CDs, I've spend more buying CDs in the last year than it'd cost to have a Spotify/Apple Music/Google Play subscription for a year. And quite a bit more again on downloading music. But actually playing music from a CD? I don't know, it's a bit backwards step.

Other than maybe bringing a couple of CDs in the car if I'm going on a road trip I don't play CDs. They just get ripped and put them on the shelf as part of the collection. I actually found my old portable CD player a couple of months ago. It still works but other than testing it to see if it still works I haven't actually used it in probably a good 10 years. I mean why would I when I have 7 days worth of music on my phone with room to spare.....

@DiscoMoonKitty I think you put the SD card in a computer, put some music on it then put it back in the 3DS, and the songs will be accessible from the music app thing

All 3ds systems have an SD card slot.

Yours is behind the back cover of the system. Use the little screwdriver that came with the system to remove the back.

You can also transfer files wirelessly, though I've never used that feature.

I actually still my 3ds for music but not for casual listening. I'm a music producer and I like to listen to my songs on the go just to see if I could catch any mistake in the mixing or if any other ideas come to me while away from my PC. Smartphones are harder to put music files on without any streaming services so I just use my 3ds bc it's easier to transfer files to and from the SD.
