I coudn't stand the game in general. I could never tell when I was supposed to press the button to dodge or give extra damage. This made the battling a nightmarish experience. The Mario & Luigi series made those mechanics a lot clearer.

Cameo's are good enough for me. They should just make new charactors rather than just reuse an old one in my opinion. Keeps things fresher in an classic series.

Mario RPG is a terrible game compared to the paper Mario and Mario and Luigi games, and geno is a boring character from a game forever ago that very few people care about anymore. So in other words, no I wouldn't want to see some nobody in a Mario game. The last thing proper mario games need is a bloated cast, why don't you go ask sonic how well that was working for him until they dropped 95% of the characters?
